Compression Test

Who's got a thread-in compression tester. I want to check mine to see how the rings did in terms of seating during the break-in of the new motor.

Would you like me to ship you mine? Just pay shipping back to me. I can have it out first thing in the morning for you.

tips on a comp test.

engine at operating temp.

count the number of compression strokes on each cylinder, try to get the same number on each cylinder test. This give a better comparison test.

you can also go until the gauge stops climbing, but still do the count

if there's big differences the next step is a leak down to pinpoint the leak location, in-valves, exh-valves or rings.

He wasn't asking for a how-to... He was asking if someone had one he could borrow...

I'll just go buy one if nobody close by has one for a quick check - I should have the tool anyway.
