let me know if this link works for any of you guys. since i can't seem to get the clicking noise from my tire to work on my camera, i atleast got this raspy noise.
if no one saw before, i asked about what the noise could be. awhile back on my last motor, i had this noise, and was told it was my throwout bearing. so i had my clutch replaced, and noise went away. hadn't drove the car much on the new clutch, and the motor blew. replaced the motor, swapped the clutch over as well. and now, this noise is back, but still on a relatively new clutch. my friend was saying it's the tranny. but would the tranny be making that noise? or is it just the throwout bearing?
opinions pleaseee, i want it fixed haha.

I wish I had more input other than that doesn't sound very good. It is hard to tell from the video but if you make one of the meets you should have people listen to that and the click.
Definitely will the next meetup there is.
I'd like to get to the bottom of what the noises are, i don't like them at all haha. especially on a motor i just replaced, i don't need more problems. grrr

Check your heat shield on your manifold and by the catalitic converter. The sound quality is horrible on youtube so I cant really tell what it is. Also this may sound dumb, but check your oil level too. I was low 2 quarts on my beater and it made wierd engine sounds.
No, it doesn't really feel rough when i drive. but now that you mention it, when shifting, even after i've warmed the car up a little. the first couple times i start from 1st, shifting to 2nd doesn't really "grind" but it does make a rough noise. so, maybeeee it could be the tranny then? i'll just have to have someone check the car out after it's been sitting for a little then they can hear and drive it and see what they think.

haha oh i definitely have enough oil. i check it everyday because i also have a small oil leak too, so i keep up on the oil.
it's almost been making this noise ever since we put the motor in, but if you stick your head inside the engine bay, you can definitely hear it coming from the tranny area, or just the lower engine area.

does it make that sound at all rpms? does it go away after warming up the car? might be a stretch, but my honda used to make kinda like a clunking that sounded like it was coming from the tranny but it was a blown catalytic converter. maybe? at least that would be a cheaper fix than tranny issues.
well first you need to locate the noise.. i mean just pointing a camera at the car doesnt help.. sounds like something is just rattling.. broken cat, loose heatshields.. i mean if it doesnt feel different or like somethings wrong then its more than likely not mechanical.. locate the noise.. not that hard

this is what i was going to suggest..

forgot to mention this, but if i do push the clutch in, noise goes away. that's why last time i was told it was my throwout bearing, but that's basically all brand new so i was wondering if throwout bearing or tranny. since it doesn't sound like something is loose or rattling on anything. but i guess someone will just have to hear it in person then to see how distinct the sound is.
Considering all things, when was the last time you changed the Gear oil for the trans? the sound quality on that video does suck, so I wonder if it sounds like cavitation from lack of lubrication. How new is the clutch fork? original? Other parts could be calling it quits.
I'm just throwing ideas out there.

J, does the sound completely go away after its warm when it idles? If not then its for sure your TOB, but if it goes away, then I am not completely sure what it is. When I had my 420a my TOB made terrible noises.

and yesss, the sound DOES go away after it's completely heated up. so i'm guessing maybe not my throwout bearing then. i was hoping it wouldn't be since the whole clutch and everything is still pretty new.
I Think its the Throw Out Bearing, They can go out very easy even if they are new. Maby there was something that got into the bearing or didnt get greased enough. but then again if it goes away once its warm, thats kinda weird.... Its telling you to get an Evo....
