Airfilter setup?

Pretend I had a speed density sensor sitting in my front seat of my car atm, what setup for an air filter would I need? Since I get rid of the MAF, just a pipe to a cone filter thingy that I hate? Like 3" inlet?

Just a filter on the turbo would be fine. Ballers sometimes just use window screen and a hose clamp.

Yo Jason. Yeah, you pretty much just run a cone filter with an inlet the size of your intake. 7 inch filter is about right if you have the ACD reservoir. I recently picked up an amsoil air filter. They are light blue in color and just absolutely great quality. I don't think you can go wrong with an amsoil filter or a k&n cone filter for SD.

True

But yes, if your intake is a 3" then you need a 3" ID cone filter. I have the ideal K&N filter at home and I can look up the model number for you. Its also a velocity stack style (open filtered end instead of closed end like most), which is something I prefer to run.

Keep this in mind, if you're running a short route UICP (ETS, etc...) you're gonna have some fitment issues with that MAF intake. I was running a Dejon Tool recirc'd MAF intake before I went to the ETS SR UICP. Upon install, I found that the UICP covers up about half of the intake opening. So with that in mind, you'll most likely need a non-MAF intake setup (something ER can make for you). Or you can make one yourself like I did.

ER made me a nice SS intake with K&N filter when I was running the BBK turbo - it is same size as stock. Of course this was an SD setup but still worked and looked extremely well.
