Window tint

I got a local cop harassing me about my window tint. He's given me 10 days to get it fixed or else I get a fine. I agreed that the front two windows were illegal, but I'm skeptical about doing the back two and rear window. One of the local tinting shops told me to head over to the state patrol and get their opinion on the legalities of the tint on a 4 door car. Apparently they can overrule city cops if they deem it legal. Has anyone experienced this or have any advice on what else I could do? This is in Washington state btw.

Info on my tint:
7% on front two
5% on rear passenger
5%(guessing) on rear window

Cop said he would allow 24% all around the vehicle but cannot validate the % on rear window.

Edit: Also I don't have a problem pulling the tint off, I'd just rather save the time and $ to not do this.

Washington State law is supposedly 35%. However they dont seem to mind if only the fronts are done in 35% while the rears are darker. I plan on either 25% all around or 35% fronts, 25% rears.

I thought tinting in the front is limited to 35 percent and the rear window you can put as dark as you want, there is no limit. Please correct me if I am wrong. I will be tinting very soon

if your state law is anything like oregon then you can get an affidavit from your doctor and have it legally notorized and you can get whatever tint you want legally. you have to look the part though as i'm hella white and burn extremely easily so it's one way i was able to get that document

An eye doctor can also prescribe the tint for you for vision.
