walbro 255 fuel pump question

So today, I picked up some Injen UICP and a walbro 255 fuel pump for a pretty good price. I may have been a little too hasty about the pump.

It turns out it is not an in the gas tank drop in fuel pump, its the one that attaches to the fuel line....so my question is...did I mess up and get the wrong kind?

Or am I completely wrong about what I'm talking about and need to be told to be quiet and sit in the corner?

Here is a pic:

Thanks,
Tim

you prob want to put on a new strainer for the pump since you already have it out.

basically what he is saying is you will need a new fuel filter on the pump when you drop it in. You could probably just google the instructions and go step by step and do this right at your house.

Ummm, no JR. He wants his car to run.........I kid I kid

But yeah, go sit in a corner and be quiet because thats the correct fuel pump you want. Install is super easy, trickiest part is pulling the hanger and pump assembly out of the body since you have to get the angle right to get it out. As recommended and mentioned, replace the fuel filter which is located on the pump itself if it isnt supplied.

I would also recommend doing the check valve mod (again, super easy). Youll see a stainless little plug looking object on the end of the filter. Grab a screw driver, allen wrench, or something of that nature and push it all the way down as far as it goes. Thats it.

BTW, if you want a hand installing it, contact JR or myself and we'd be happy to help. JR is north of you around Waller Rd. Im south of you in Lacey.
