Question Outlander Sport (RVR) Fog Lamps

Hi there,

I've scoured the internet and these forums and can't find what I'm looking for so hoping someone here might have some info/experience.

The lens on my fog lamp cracked and eventually broke. One dealership quoted me $550 and one quoted me $426 just to replace the one fog lamp with DRL.

Given that the first lamp broke after 6 months from brand new, I am looking to replace it with a cheaper alternative such as an aftermarket lamp.

Does anyone have any experience with after market lamps for the Outlander Sport/RVR?

I've been looking at this one, but the seller has been unable to confirm compatibility with my car because it's for the ASX, the Euro version of the OS.

Any feedback would be great!

get the dimensions of the OEM light and then get the dimensions of the aftermarket. It will need to be wired in and possibly a relay wired in if your going to use a fog light over a DRL led. Also you may need to custom fab a bracket to hold the aftermarket light. I cant see a Fog light costing that from the dealer. If so start looking used.

Junk yard for sure.

If you can ditch the DRL there is a seller on eBay and also amazon carries the non-DRL fogs for $2XX USD.

hahaha that's awesome. Gravity defying Outlander Sport. Here they are right-side-up for ya.

Hood looks good, as does roof, but I'm not crazy about the sides...

Nice work. Why don't you paint the side mirror too?

You're OS looks very nice man with black out hood and roof! Did you use a plasti dip or vinyl?

Yesterday I was doing a part cross check and I checked the K&N website. I searched under RVR/Outlander sport 2013 and got nothing. I looked under 2013 ASX and under the 1.6L and 1.8L engines I got a picture of a surprisingly similar looking filter that resembles the 2.0L Outlander Sport/RVR 2013 filter. I took the measurements and I called a local shop and hand one ordered. The Part number and link to the filter is below. I'll be looking to see if it fits and if it does then I'll post my findings.

K&N Part number: 33-2050-1

Cross Reference Mitsubishi Part Number

Nothing lost nothing gained if this doesn't work out. But if it does then we have a panel filter for us. I should have more news by Thursday hopefully but with the long weekend approaching it might not come in till Tuesday next week.
Bro, did this K&N filter fits your 2013 OS?

I wonder why they would change the filter design if the current one that was the same as the Evo X had enough flow for a 300-450 hp application? I mean I ran 11.9 @ 114 on the stock paper air filter with my Evo X MR so changing it makes no sense. It would be interesting to see if they made it bigger or smaller, eventually there should be a K&N drop in available for the 2013+

Not mine, I was just reposting for the guy above. I *think* he said somewhere that he used plasti-dip, but I could be mistaken.
