Who is thinking about changing to a mini battery?
Since there is not much stuff to increase the power for the OS, I am thinking to reduce some of the weights.
I notice a difference after taking the spare tire away, so why not get more of the weight out. I recently changed a battery from my friend's car and I found that the battery was so dam heavy. Changing the original one in the OS to a mini battery will save maybe 20lb?
I found the cheapest option is the odyssey P680 (15lb). But I just don't know the reliability of this thing. The cold crank amp(CCA) of our car is 550 and the P680 can generate 680 for the first 5 sec of crank. Therefore, if everything function correctly, it should have no problem at all.
BTW, did anyone try it yet?
here is the pic and spec of the P680

Odyssey makes some quality batteries from what I've heard. I just upgraded to a Duralast Gold from Autozone. They have a really long warranty, a lot more CCA's, and it was really, really on sale lol. BUT, it's a little heavier than OEM. If you think it's work that much money to save 20lbs go for it. Personally, I'd imagine that the RRM tuner, a lightweight pulley, or a header would net you better gains.
my evo was always on the charger with the odyssey mini battery i had it it yeah it saved weight and looked cool, but i have no desire to put the extra strain on the alternator of this suv, because they are super crazy exspensive to replace

To save just 20lbs.. I'd look into doing a bit more Workouts than to spend money on replacing a perfect good battery.
Either that or go ahead and remove both rear seats.
