It does have an active front diff and a bunch more sound control insulation points and leading edge rubber sealing areas. This cabin is super quite compared to the Wifes 14 outlander, which is way better than the OS. we previously had. (NEW OS's are much improved tho.)

So I'm getting a new Outlander, it gets better mileage than the OS and the new CVT makes things still quicker than the previous model. Not sure about the HP or perf. numbers, but it feels quicker than the Sante Fe did. Mods planned (with my dealers input) are crank Pulley, intake, oil catch can, and a strut bar. (might have to fab that myself) I'm gonna clean up the outer lip on my 19's and run those in the nicer months, give the wife the new 18's and take the ones off her 14 to use during the winter. (gonna have to figure something out for the TPMS I think tho.

Well hell, if it has S-AWC AND quieter + bigger/roomier With better MPGs Plus quicker CVT 'feel', then I'm sold.

We may trade up also!
Thank you for doing on the leg work and checking it out for us.

You got it.
I think my wifes build is the only Big O (call it that just cuz) since we got it in 14. But the Outlander and Outlander Sport are still pretty close in a lot of things.
I know when we were looking to try and trade off the OS cuz of the wifes complaints on it, our dealer made a pretty good case for the bigger UTE and she's been MUCH happier with it.
Don't seem like much, but the 3rd row seats are actually pretty useful at times. The newer Big O has a much improved CVT and chassis bracing. "IF" you are thinking of an upgrade that's cheaper to run, I'd seriously consider making the move. I think the SE model like we'll both now have is cheaper than the loaded OS. There's only about a grand in cust. loyalty and other rebates right now, but we got down from 27K+ to just 26195. AND 13600 trade on my Sonata turbo. (NADA was 11900) but the Sonata was pretty well a premo 4dr rocket. Someone will REALLY enjoy that car.

I think the only thing that would stop me is that the Outlander is about 15" longer than the OS/RVR. Other than that the 16 looks pretty sweet (art least until we see the new OS/RVR/ASX)

yeah, we were looking for a small SUV that's easy to drive and park, like her '05 Forester.
no use for a larger one - no kids or big dogs to haul around.

You might both be surprised how "un" big it really feels when driving it. back up cam, other stuff depending on package, but if you put in a couple friends, you've got plenty of useable room still. AND it gets better mpg.
Perhaps the new RVR will do better, for us, we still travel with the daughter or friends and family. To be honest, if the smaller RVR got as good or better mpg's we'd now have one of each most likely. But for 2 vehicles that are pretty much the same driving, going from one to the other, and me liking the better ride (since I travel 70M per day for work) I'm OK having another one for me and one the wife can live with.
She's a good selling point for me when it comes to vehicles...... Like when I was ready to get with the dealer, just walk in and sign paperwork on a 15 Stingray with custom ordered paint and the Black out wheel package,,,,, She was pretty convincing. She told me I couldn't afford the Vette. I said no, I got it all squared away. She NO, you can't afford the Vette AND alimony......... Yeah,,,, dumb me figured I'd laugh it off so I said,,, "how much alimony"? = = = = DOG HOUSE 2 weeks!!!!

...
Now That's a hard combo to beat.
Only thing missing in the Big O is that glass roof...

Our baby girl loves to be able to stare out that pano while we drive!

hmm...
She's a total buzz kill!
She could've at least let you have it for 3 days before she made you bring the Vette back to the dealer > to have to explain that you're told by your oversee-er you can't keep the man-toy.
