Yes, it is Cold Out So I Expect Ice

I checked the manuals: any way to disable that stoopid (tm) icy roads warning?

Nope. it's like an annoying orange with a really stupid voice that just comes on when the temps are in the range of "Safety awareness"....

I hate it too.

haven't gotten one in the OS yet - i assume it appears, then goes away like the one in the Evo?

that doesn't bother me (if it goes away). what does is the fact that these cars can't hold more than 4 TPMS sensors in memory, so i get to see that warning light for 3 months when i put the snow tires on the Evo.

Yeah, funny that MMCS will hold 6 or 7 cellphones but only one set of TPMS> And the ice warning is not really that - it is just a temp warning (4C I Think). If it was an actual black ice warning then I would be fine with it. I bet you could turn it off in the BCM if you had one of those Actia devices. But that op is above my pay grade.

Well, one way to do it without programming is to just put a $2 foam insulation around the temperature sensor**. At the very least it would lower the threshold so it won't come on until much much colder temps happen.

The sensor is located near the upper front of the radiator area. You should be able to see it once you remove that engine bay front deck lid.

Unfortunately not. Believe me, I would have done it long time ago if that was possible. It is truly annoying. One can select different regions but the freezing point of water is the same at atmospheric pressure so, I do not understand the logic behind putting different options for geographic regions (none of them are for the Himalayas or the Dead Sea).

I just programmed one full size Outlander (2nd generation) over the weekend and the owner wanted to have reverse gear warning introduced (periodic beeping). It transforms the car into a truck (as far as the sound is concerned (only inside though, it does not warn people outside)).

Well that is weird! At least on my Nissan I can turn the darn thing off.

As for the reversing beep - wouldn't one of the brake light sounders have been a lot easier?
