Out of state purchase and shipping

Clearly not Mitsubishi specific, but has anyone here purchased a new car out of state and had it shipped? I'm shopping for a deal on a new Outlander Sport and I figure what's the harm searching nationwide, right? ;^)

If you have any tips, tricks, stories, etc. I'd be interested to hear. Thanks!

I have bought two Evo's from out of state and had them shipped. Dealer took care of the leg work, I paid around $500 each time it was done. Car came on the back of a carrier and was inspected by myself and the driver for any damages that could have occurred during transit. Pretty simple and easy process.

I haven't had any shipped. But I did drive a 20 hr round trip to pick up my OS because the price was so good it was worth the drive.

Mind revealing where you purchased from? Specifically or generally...

i purchased a year-old CPO car from an Infiniti dealer and had it shipped for $500. dealer took care of everything and it arrived at my front door. couldn't tell the car from brand new. great experience, really pleased how it went down - saved $23k over a new one.

my brother bought a 2011 Lexus from a dealer and also had it shipped for $500 - arrived with rear brakes that were seized.

if you're buying new, you shouldn't have any problems, though.
