my job is fun if i'm in the shop. but the majority of the time i'm in the office with satan. boy does it suck working with her. i've never had a problem with a co-worker ever before, and she's just an evil old rude lady, whose life probably sucks at home so she makes everyone else feel miserable.

Oh, the dreaded office hag.

Work is so much better when you don't have the drama of negative people around you..

No doubt!

I have noise isolating headphones... I very rarely allow them to further destroy my will to live.

Ah a fellow engineer, are you an ME? Atleast most the guys where I work are in their 30's so they have some life left...Comparing earphones and discussing weather is about the only thing everybody agrees on too. Its so silent during the day you could here a pin drop...if you don't have an ipod you are an outcast.

Si, senor. There's one other guy in his late 20s that knows cars, but mostly I just avoid socializing. The engineers are a pretty quiet bunch, but there are some other groups in the same area that like to have phone conferences on speakerphone, and see who can talk louder.

No iPod, just Pandora.

Ah yes...there are only about 2 or 3 of us there in our 20's, rest are the older guys. Few nice cars their but I have yet to put any faces to the nicer cars. Only time I even talk to any of them is when we get in the elevator.

I've always worked in and around software and I think I would go crazy if I didn't interact with those around me. I can understand people putting on the headphones and focusing on their work at times but I've always found work more enjoyable for most when you are socially involved.
