Dan!
I told you it was rod bearings :P Not that I'm excited to be right or anything...that sucks.

A cheap rebuild would be a long rod 2.0L 156mm shelf rods w/ the 2.3L stroker shelf pistons. Polish the factory crank and bore .020"

Hey is there any Evo drives this summer. If so where? There used to be a cool drive by NASIOC called the Cascade Loop-but they are not doing one this year.

Oh damn man, I'm sorry to hear that. Like Codgi said tho, meth's a bad habit. Soon your car will be scratching it's hood off.

^lol, well meth wasn't exactly the cause, but I am debating removing that going forward to remove any potential obvious failure points. Driving the S10 every day sucks!

I am hoping to get Jordon's block, just figuring out some things right now.

Even Luke didn't think the sound was down below, Eric!

NoJoy, we did a deception pass cruise last summer that was nice. Also, there are some threads for cruises this summer, but nothing super local planned yet.

Dude, on the 24th I'm flying to Colorado for Pike's Peak Int'l Hillclimb! You're not too far away in Utah! Raceday is on the 27th of June. You should totally roll down and go!

FYI the phone rings off the hook. When it actually goes to the answering machine it means I was out in the shop, at the dyno, in the bathroom. PM and email are the most effective ways to talk to humans around here for the time being.

Meth wouldnt have caused a rod bearing failure. Misfires, severe knock (detonation), sand, extreme cylinder pressure, oil starvation, bad luck, high miles with no oil changes, all the stuff that causes spun bearings is random to me. Normally something like excessive RPM is the easiest thing to point to. Really 8500 and down on the stock bottom end has seemed to be okay on rod bearings. This is the first one I can think of really spinning without the knock light freaking out.

Meth causes rod ejections usually leaving a perfect bearing and half a rod attached to the block.

Sorry to have been the negative nancy Dan, but I knew it wasnt in the head.

^lol, it's all good Aaron. I don't blame ya!

I usually email. Also, Aaron is usually good about calling back when he can get to it, but that guy does not stop getting a constant barrage of calls! It really sucks how many calls they get from someone that just wants to get free tech support. I'd bet a high % of their calls don't generate a purchase or work, just dumbasses calling for support.

Of course, as the good shop that they are, they try to answer whatever they can. for the ER guys!!!
