If Kauz isn't doing a big order, then we just go get Amsoil from Action Autoparts on Evergreen Way. They have a bunch of good brands there. Just head north on Evergreen, it's on the corner of 92nd and Evergreen.

i've hard that a couple times, but no one ever provides a link that explains.

i'm willing to switch to another synthetic oil, i'd just like some reasoning.

every oil change i revert back to royal purple because i'm happy with how she runs, it's purple, and i'm rather easy on my car.

can someone post a link to explain why royal purple is dirt?

i think i've heard of other 3s owners running amsoil, so i may look into that. i get confused reading about oil tests.

If I was on a mild stock block/stock turbo setup I'd likely still be running NAPA Synthetic, which is basically the same as Valvoline synthetic, except on sale @ $2.50 or less a bottle.

Hey guys, yea I plan on doing a big order but it was a disaster (for me) last time.

I fronted all the money, had to drive around making deliveries, held product for weeks as people scrounged for money, and from the beginning I was trying to do others a favor with ZERO personal/monetary benefit.

This time it will be different, there will be a nominal charge ($1-3) and payment in advance. Not sure if people are happy with that change, but ultimately I never did it for personal gain and shouldnt have been put out so much.

this is why i stick with normal 10W-30 oil...everyone always says different things!

I may run amsoil though...what's the shelf-life on oil?

what from my post is the reason why you stick with normal 10w30? I'm not saying to run a different weight, just that I'd run NAPA synthetic (done by the parent company Ashland, which is also what Valvoline is). Again, this is for a mildly modded, well maintained car; also under the assumption it is running well with said oil.

@Ryan - I wasn't one of those people either, and in fact I paid for my products before they were ordered. If I have to pay for the fault of others then there are plenty of others that are with Amsoil. lmk!

@yahu - people say run 0w-30, 0w-40, 20w-50, 10w-30, 5w-30, 5w-40, -5w-117, etc., etc. brands i haven't looked into much so i've just stuck to mobil1 for now until someone orders amsoil and i can tag along to their order though

essentially everyone has a different opinion so i've just stuck to stock oil weights and such for now. people suggested going 0w-30 or 5w-30 for winters and 10w-40 or 20w-50 for summer but i've yet to try anything else. pretty much one person will tell me one thing, i'll do some research and there will be a bunch of people disagreeing with that person, back and forth back and forth etc., etc

I can get cases of Kendall oil pretty cheap if anyone is ever interested? Essentially the same as Brad Penn oil. I run 20w50 most of the year and 10w40 in the winter months (which is maybe 2 oil changes)
