If its this one:

You have to take off the stock A-Pillar. You'll also have to remove the stock tweeter from the stock A-Pillar. My shop heated up the screws and thats how they got it to D/C. It has worked great for me for the past 4+ years.
If its this one, it does not screw into the stock A-Pillar. You will need two screws to screw it into place however. Hope this helps. On the wires question, do you have an aftermarket car-alarm? Could be those, mine was mounted there by the shop which did that install.

Chris from Duvall, WA stopping by to introduce myself. I recently purchased a 2011 Phantom Black X GSR. Love it. There are now three turbo cars in the driveway: the Evo, an '08 Mazdaspeed3 and my wife's '09 WRX. (The MS3 is getting sold).
Really looking forward to seeing what this car can do. I really haven't pushed it very hard yet. It's 100% stock except for tint and stone guard.

PS: If you want to be a real man, get banned from MNW then you wont have to worry about hanging out with them or paying Ezra to blow your donation money.
Just thought I would chime in that I have started doing details for the upcomming season. Last weekend I detailed a Ford Edge in very sorry shape for a friend who has a very nice Mazda6. His wifey needed a little spruce up on her DD.
Detailing SUV's is not fun, but if its for a friend then it happens.
If any northwest folks are in need of detailing or input on paint condition feel free to hit me up. I've got the garage setup with everything except a carpet shampooer.
Here are some pics of his Mazda6 that I detailed before he shipped it to SEMA.

Your MS-3 rims will fit the evo if you get some spacers.... I know you put some good coin into them and the Mazda crowd is too cheap to pay for mods.

Nice pick up, Chris. Welcome aboard!

I can. However a better bet would be for you to do the touchups (2-3 coats over a day) then let it dry for about 48 hours and then I can wet-sand and polish those areas. you will never know they were there!
spot-wet sanding isnt very detrimental to the overall paint, using 3,000 grit paper it doesnt take much of the paint off.

I may take you up on that once it gets to be a bit dryer. I'll look closer today, I'm pretty sure neither are down to metal, but I don't want rust growing underneath them anytime in the future

Some tool thought it was funny to write "wash me" on a black integra that I used to own, and the scratches were still there when I sold it. Granted I did not do any serious restoration work on it, but still..
