Been on vacation in the Rockies the past week but before I left I got the exhaust wrapped up. 3" off the turbo and expands to 3.5" where the wastegate recirculates to keep a relatively consistent cross section. Super pleased with how it turned out, now just to get it all ceramic coated.

Door hinge design is finalized. Been without a printer for 2 months now and finally got a new one last week to get back to finishing projects and product protos. The hinges are different between top and bottom from the factory which would mean making a total of location bespoke designs which can get very expensive in low quantities. Was able to commonize the top and bottom to keep it at a 2 part design which will hopefully ease costs. Getting these quoted up by the machinist and onto the next project to finish: shifter cables.

Still waiting on my coilovers, ugh. Supposedly they've been dyno'd now so hoping to have them back soon. Still waiting on a friend with a lathe to help me finish my last spherical and then the entire rear suspension is sphericalized. Once the suspension is all back together I can finish the design for the sway bar; I'm really excited for that.

Edit: Also threw on some patch panels to cover up where the door harnesses used to run. On wet days water would spray through and get on my legs so it'll be nice to stay more dry haha

Power steering cooler setup is done. Had the cooler core mounted up for a while but finally got around to making the lines. Space was tight against the inside of the bumper so I had to get creative with the fittings but I'm happy with how it turned out. It utilizes quick disconnects so it'll be very easy to service which will be nice for the future, just remove lines and put a plug in them. I was able to route the lines on the same path in the engine bay too which I think looks fairly tidy and they both bolt up to the bracket for the airbag crash sensor which is no longer present.

I put the BCS over on the passenger frame rail to keep the vacuum lines as short as possible and keep them relatively out of the way from everything else. With the FP SS turbine housing the wastegate is pointed that direction so my options were either extend the wiring and add it to the loom of wires that already runs in that area and get nice short vac lines or make long vacuum lines that would cross half the engine bay. The mount is bolted into a threaded hole in the frame rail that used to hold a bracket for the stock power steering cooler so it's completely reversible in the future should I ever need to change something..

Rubber hose to give a rough idea on routing, the final lines will be braided 3AN lines.

It looks liket you plugged the exhaust port on your 3port solenoid. It's not going to do a good job controlling boost with that plugged since it can't bleed air.

Looks super clean but man, bold move running those plastic clip disconnects with the heat of oil. Which brand are those?

Also, I would recommend some rubber on that BCS mounting or you might hear the clicking.

It's a brass filter. My only concern is moisture getting in.

Thanks. The only plastic is the clear/blue clip. The hose end itself is aluminum. Took me a minute to find aluminum ones as I wasn't confident in plastic either. As for brand I got them off ebay as it was the only place in the US I could find such a hose end and they came from Utah so had them in 2 days.

Not too worried about hearing the BCS, this entire car is loud. I'm getting the exhaust ceramic coated and there will be almost an entire foot air gap between the BCS and the downpipe but I'm still debating making a heat shield for it to be on the safe side.


On another note I finally ordered a crankshaft this past week. Was trying desperately to find someone who had an Eagle 94mm in stock but no dice. Either way, the order is in now and it's back ordered until November at the moment. So hoping the early November ship date holds true and I can get the new engine together before the end of the year. The one big job left to tackle with the engine besides building it is designing and making a full depth oil pan. I've already got it in my head how I'm gonna do it but need to get some 3D scans done and then I can get it designed and show you guys what it'll be.

Still debating sending the drivetrain to TRE to have everything get a bill of health but might wait until next winter for that as I'm trying to focus more and more on the side business prospects.

Well I've finally finished getting the rear suspension sphericals all done. I should have my Ohlins back sometime in the next week from getting rebuilt and revalved. Then I'll be spending some time this winter plotting all the kinematics of the suspension to get everything where I want it.

Tonight I finally reached the point of getting fitment right on the rear sway bar I'm hoping to offer in the future. Was able to keep the route the same as the stock bar which keeps the blade arms from hanging super low to the ground. I'm really excited to make a few of these bars and see how they perform.

It will have 5 different wall thickness options, and 4 points of adjustment (may increase this to 5) which will give a total of 7 (or 9) different stiffness settings. So basically any rate under the sun is possible and it will have tons of adjustability. Also, the attachment points are on a fixed radius so if you change bar setting you don't have to change the end link length, simply unbolt the endlink from the bar, and move it the desired position. And to make things ever better, the bar is mounted to the chassis with bearings instead of bushings; this means there's no deflection in the bar mounts and it's able to translate with minimal friction.

Scored this rear diff for under $100. I was told it was in working condition but it turned out to be damaged. Made a quick teardown video on it to see what I could use from it to build a spare diff. After looking at the front pinion bearing and seeing that most of the rollers have flat spots in them and seeing signs of heat coloring I realized this damage isn't from shipping mishandling. Luckily the seller was reasonable and gave me a partial refund. Still excited to have most of a diff I can use to build!
