got about 500 miles on the car now and I am back in jersey with two fresh sets of plugs, fresh oil change, and a street tune date for Friday with karl.
when I get a chance I'll load up some more pictures and hopefully nothing but good updates. I hope all goes well!

So yesterday I went to my wife's grandmother's for thanksgiving and noticed that the clutch kept slipping. All I could think was "of course, the day before the tune and something else happens" Long story short, my clutch fork stop loosened up on me and worked its way out to the point where it was pushing on the fork.

Today my brother and I drove up to meet with Karl of KP tuning. After the clutch situation was under control we had a successful street tune and I am extremely happy with the car. I even managed to get a black Friday special on a ported megan o2 housing from king karl. haha

Special thanks to the lovely folk at STM for overnighting me some fresh plugs for this tune. I'll be sure to get some pictures up very shortly.

thanks man! currently I'm dd'ing the car. I just drove back to jersey from nc with no problems at all.

I think it's time for a better ignition though.. I'm going to take the gap down to .020 to see if that helps a little.

my wife and brother got me some STM gear and a buschur short shifter for Christmas. got everything installed yesterday.

the shifter is really tight but everything shifts real smooth and feels great otherwise.

How is that 13lb flywheel working for you? Do you have any stalling issues coming to a stop or wtih the ac on?

I don't have AC in the car but I have no stalling issues whatsoever. I had everything balanced together during the build so that plays a big part I think.

the whole drivetrain combo on a stock trans shifts really nice, I'm happy with it. except 5th gear grind but eh... win some lose some lol

Thanks, I'm giving consideration to it as I'm having trouble finding a good stock flywheel core.

really? did you post a wtb thread in that section? someone rockin a baller a$$ clutch would have one.

I got my act flywheel for 50 bucks, I don't know if I'd pay 400 or whatever it retails for. a resurfaced stock flywheel works just as well.

I'm going to bring this thread back from the dead because after two years, a 9 month school, and a 9 month deployment, I'm finally ready to drop the cash on a bigger turbo kit.

I almost sold the car before I left because I found a 67 Camaro in decent shape and I have a built 383 and th350 sitting in the garage. My wife convinced me to wait until I got back and just the other week she said someone was interested in the Evo. Luckily the sale didn't go through, because I started having regrets as soon as I sent the guy pictures. One of the dude's friends said it looked slow anyway and that was enough for my wife to say "we're keeping it, we're getting that turbo kit, and we're making her faster."

So through much thought (and I'm still open to ideas/criticism) here is my shopping list:
-STM 6466 turbo kit (kind of leaning towards FF)
-FIC 2150s
-BR Double Pumper
-Torque Solutions motor mounts
-STM ported Skunk2 with Full Blown TB
-D2 Drag Coilovers
-Spoolinup COP
-Rota Slips with Hoosier QTPs

Here is the current specs:
-Eagle 2.3 stroker kit
-GSC S2 cams
-FIC 1150s
-Walbro 255 FP
-AEM Fuel Rail
-Aero FPR
-ARP headstuds
-ETS 3" FMIC
-Fluidampr HB
-ACT 6puck and streetlite flywheel
-Whiteline roll center kit
-Tein S techs and stock struts
-HKS 3" Exhaust
-Stock 8 turbo
-Stock drivetrain

Took her to the track down in North Carolina and ended up running 12.2 at 112mph. I don't remember my 60' but the tires were spinning pretty bad.

I just spent the last 30+ minutes reading the ENTIRE post from when you first pulled your motor, beautiful build, my motor is stripped right now, waiting on the funds to order my stroker kit. manley i beams wiesco 1400hd's etc.. 100mm oem crank, but got some pitting so might need to find another if this dosnt clean up with a micropolish.

It was good seeing this post, got a nice boost in motivation.

As far as your turbo choice goes, that turbo can make quite a bit of power, I don't your eagle H beams can handle much more than 600hp (correct me if im wrong) but I think it would be pushing it anything past that power limit, those forged cranks were also not that reliable from what I have read from various posts, I believe even David Buschur had problems using these in his build a long time ago. So keep that into consideration! A 5858 or a turbo in that size would be a much suitable one, if you think the bottom end can handle it, the 6466 is a beastly turbo. A friend of mine made 713 on a buschur 2 liter with the FF 6466 kit, but he revs it over 9k and car feels like a 73 bug anything under 4k.

Goodluck and thanks for a great read!

Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you found some motivation out of it! I also went back through and read everything as it's been two years since I've spent some serious time on this forum.

You may be right about the bottom end, I honestly haven't looked into the capabilities or limitations of the Eagle kit. That's something I'll have to get some more details for. I know of at least one guy on here running a 6466 on a stock block around 550hp so I don't know. I was initially dead set on a FF 6262 but a lot of people have been telling me to go with the 6466 gen 2.

Do you think it would be better to run the 6466 on a conservative tune leaving me room to grow if I need to rebuild the bottom end, or go with a smaller turbo? I feel like I can grow with the 6466 instead of buying and selling turbos.

Also may be worth mentioning, the car is no longer my DD. I don't really have any specific goals in mind for her just the occasional car meet, weekend rides, and trips to the drag strip.
