has anyone here drilled and tapped their front diff cover to 10mm? I'm going to take a look at it today and see how I feel about it but some input would be much appreciated.

Well I am now back in North Carolina with PLENTY of updates.. it was a good 4 days home and I got a lot accomplished. With the support of my patiently loving fiance, the engine and trans finally made it to their home! Here's how it happened...

Packed the new oil pump and bolted it back together with the oem stub shaft. Getting that philips head screw out of the back without stripping it was a slight pain in the as$!

I had a fun time finding all the bolts for the oil pump in the maze of the garage lol Torquing the oil pump pulley was no fun either I was half tempted to just weld it but I finally got that all bolted up.

My buddy matt tapping the egr port for 1/8 NPT plug.

This was the end of the first night. I didn't get the top bracket with the intercooler
but i'll probably bend up some metal and make a bracket or maybe come up with something interesting.

Day two: got the front all bolted and torqued down. Ready for the timing belt!

my alternative to using the "special tool" ...and i couldn't find my snap ring pliers. :/

timing belt on and everything came out perfect. then I got the oil pan cleaned up and bolted down.

Fluidampr HB, my dad looked at the engine and said the only thing he liked was the hb cus its made in USA. lol

valve cover on, engine's pretty much ready to attach to the trans and get dropped in!

I told steph..."I'm just going to put this insert in the front mount and we can go inside" well 45 minutes later, an angry woman, and smashed fingers I finally got it in and called it a night. lol

Day 3: got the flywheel and clutch assembled, ready for the trans to mount up.

got the engine bay ready to receive an engine/trans!

2chainz

well that was easy! the pain was getting the tcase on from underneath with my small jack stands haha

got the rad and overflow tank in just to give it some bling for a picture! but I had to leave the car as she sits... was going to put the axles in and drop her on the wheels but I need new ball joints and to fix some threads my buddy just so happened to strip -__-
TO DO:
-finish the harness and get everything wired up
-fuel lines and regulator
-fill all fluids
-assemble front suspension
-set base map for start up
-go over everything a million times
-trailer to KP TUNING!!!
any opinions or suggestions would be greatly appreciated i'm always up for ideas and anything to help the performance of the car of course!

Well having some free time now and then as well as access to STM's website leaves me contemplating buying car parts! The struggle is real...
So here's what I came up with to have waiting upon my arrival...
UNCLE SAM FUNDED PARTS
-Whiteline Kit to replace my torn ball joints
-Coils and the necessary electrical components to make my own COP
-STM's Catch Can
-STM's SD Intake
-150 Amp Breaker and Distr. Block for the battery connections
-Megan O2 Housing
-All fluids required
'Murica

well guys, it's been a long time since i've posted anything here but I've recently returned from another country and upon my arrival in new jersey was my evo sitting in the garage all by itself. All other cars were moved out so I became a little suspicious as to why my car was the only one in there. When I walked in I noticed that everything was completely put together! Then my brother handed me the keys and it started right up.
My dad wife and brothers had all came together to get the car running for me and ready to be tuned and that was the best surprise I've ever had. I got a dyno time set up with Karl at KP next weekend so I'm really excited to post some results up. This has been a very long and tedious build with not much time to work on it but it's finally time!

I'm going to tidy this up when I get some time but I am just happy it is running!

Here's a little bracket I made for the wideband's connection underneath the car.

This is her "I just realized he loves the car more than me" face. lol
