My first 4g63 build

I'm not going to lie, coming from a Chevy family and working my way into the import world, an Evo was most likely a bad start to learn about turbod cars. But I love em and there's no turning back now.

I just started the tear down process a couple of weeks ago and think I'm making good progress. The blocks about to be sent to the machine shop where it'll be hot tanked line honed and bored .020 over as well as having my stroker rotating assembly and everything balanced.

I'm running gsc s2 cams with s2 springs and ti retainers, new water pump, belts, and gaskets are on their way now. As far as fuel I'm running 1150 fics with an aem fuel rail, aero regulator and walbro 255.

I got a hold of an act 13 lb flywheel and a cc stage3 is about to be ordered. I wish I could afford a twin disc... But as far as turbo right now ill still be utilizing the stock turbo with 20psi until the break in is complete which by that time should be able to afford a t3 setup. I'm thinking about going with a pte6262dbb but I'm open to suggestions.

I am in no rush to hurry this project up so any tips or information from some more knowledgeable people than me would be greatly appreciated! Once I figure out how to put pictures up I'll throw some up here. In the mean time I look forward to seeing some input, it would help a lot.

Ah, much prettier. Looks like it should be a good setup.

Don't be too concerned about not running a Twin Disk. I actually sold my Exedy Twin and bought a CCI Stage IV, and the single disk treats me much better than the twin ever did.

thanks, I'm hoping everything goes well. There's no way I'd be able to afford a twin right now anyway after the engine parts

Well I will chime in and it looks like your on the right track. It is to bad you can't get a twin disk being well basically act sucks I wont lie. I am sure people will blah at me for saying that but being a Chevy guy myself, and well a old dsmer, I have seen plenty of crap come from ACT. I think the turbo setup you have is pretty solid, but if you wanted to go smaller and have a kind of sleeper lookin without people knowing what exactly you have maybe look into stock frame size turbo. That way you dont have to change to a t3. Other then that though depending on what kinda power your lookin for out of the 1150s maybe small for e85 but should be fine for pump gas. I'm subscribed to see the outcome.

ACT Flywheels are more than sufficient. So is the Comp HD he'll be running. For his setup, there's no reason to go twin disc unless he just wants to replace clutch parts faster, in a more expensive manner.

well im only running an act streetlite flywheel cus i got it for 50 bucks brand new, but using a comp clutch hd. Idk if I should go with the ceramic street disc or 6-puck though. I hear the 6-puck isn't too friendly.

Everyone keeps telling me to stick with a stock-frame turbo like a black. I guess i could deal with the wait time due to the breaking in of the engine and what not but 2500 is a lot for a turbo when i could get a 6262 for 800 brand new.

I'm just going to be running pump for now, i don't know of any places to get e85 around jacksonville. except the government e85 pump station on base, but im not trying to go to jail. lol I figured the 1150's would be a good choice for my set up and 93 with occasional race fuel mixes at the track.

I have the 6 Puck Sprung Comp HD, and my car has 100% DD duties. I don't mind it at all, but I've never owned a car that didn't have a 6 Puck disk. If you do go 6 Puck, get the sprung.
