My first 4g63 build
I love the valve cover, powder coat on the calipers should hold up better than the OEM paint as well. Shame they were not powder coated from the factory.
Love the garage. Looks similar to mine, aside from the beautiful GM cars. Got large barn converted to car garage. Sadly No awesome GM collection, all I've got are my mom's 67 and 68 mustangs that she will never ever do anything with. I think she expects me to restore one using parts from the other, and magic.

Sexy, but not a DSM my friend. DSM are just the Talon/Laser/Eclipse from 90-99, laser ended in 94, talon in 98.

Thanks, I'm still waiting to send the calipers out I just don't have the money right now.
And yeah me and my dad had that garage built a few years back pretty cheap actually. All it is is a frame with siding and a roof pretty much haha A/C would be nice on these hot *** days though..

well it's game time gents... I know it's been a while but the marine corps takes every minute of my days these past few months. I have these next three days dedicated to my engine build though, any last minute pointers or tips? I'm pretty sure im locked on with everything I'll need but a second opinion is always nice!

Well go figure my luck... got the wrong bearings from lancershop that came with the stroker kit. I'll try and take some pictures but I almost messed up the journals on the crank if I hadn't been paying attention. Needless to say i'm pretty upset seeing as how i only get to come home every now and then to work on this.
But I got the rings gapped and the pistons/rods assembled.

Well it's been a while since my last update. I've been home twice since then and knocked out some major steps so here it is...

Got the block painted after putting in the balance shaft block off bearings, notching for rod clearance, and about 3 washes.

Bought this brand new ETS3" off of a fellow Evom member here

I got a new set of Clevite bearings with new thrust washers and everything checked out perfectly so the girdle got torqued down and the crank spun nicely.

I then double checked my ring gaps, lubed everything up and dropped the pistons in. Checked bearing clearance, everything was kosher so they got torqued down and again, everything rotated freely.

coffee break!

GSC S2 beehive springs with Ti retainers lookin nice.

Here you see stock lifter on the left and GSC 0-tick on the right. I was skeptical about putting them in because theyre clearly higher, however through much support from fellow EvoM members and a call to GSC I went ahead and dropped them in and moved on to the cams.

I managed to squeeze in and get the rear main seal torqued down. It's really nice having an endless amount of tools to get any job done in the garage.

I used an OEM head gasket seeing as how I'm not running High comp pistons and still on a stock turbo for now. I went ahead and got the head got torqued down to spec.

GSC S2 cams in nice and pain free. cam gears aren't torqued yet, I'm not sure if I want to change them out or not. I love the hex figure on the cams though that makes torquing and removal so much easier unlike many honda cams i've done for guys in the past.

with the head on and the cams in I went ahead and placed the valve cover on just for look. Don't worry the Intakes not torqued down.. I still have to plug the EGR port on the head! You can see the phenolic spacer though, as well as the 1150 FIC injecotrs, AEM rail, and STM fittings. I also have an Omni 4bar, AIT sensor, and a few other bolts and misc. items on order.

Well that concludes last month's trip home. The oil pump never showed up in time so I couldn't finish that. My water pump bolts somehow got bent so I ordered new ones from STM. I'll be going home again in a week or two and plan to accomplish the following:
-Assemble the front timing components and oil pump
-Mount the oil pan
-Plug EGR hole on the head
-Torque IM and EM/turbo assbly down
-Assemble the flywheel/clutch along with the trans.
-Place engine/trans into the car and start on the electrical
Should be a fun-filled week!

Here's the progress though:
-GSC lifters bled and installed
-cams lubed and torqued down
-oil pump packed and bolted on
-EGR port tapped and plugged
Today I plan on finishing up the front of the motor, getting it timed, torquing down the intake/exhaust manis and bolting the clutch/trans on.
