Oh, and I run the JMFab piece on mine like Tom, just in 3". It's a very nice piece. And also, the Amsoil filter flows a bit better than the K&N.

It's P/N: 3090 for the 3"

and 4090 for the 4"

You were one of those friends I was talking about. Just kidding. Since I already have the 3" speed density intake, this could be a better route for me. By the way, send me your email address via PM as I need to show you something.

I recently got my valve cover and radiator shroud powder coated here locally by Arc Works. Their prices cannot be beat in my opinion. For both parts, the grand total was only $75. Not only that, but I dropped the parts off on Friday and picked them up Monday afternoon. I think they came out great.

While I was at it, I thought I would take a recent engine bay picture as well.

Well upon driving to work yesterday and later that evening while doing a tuning pull, I noticed smoke coming from the engine vent. "No issues" I thought as clearly this is/was the new "coating" buring off the valve cover. I started to get worried when the smoke started coming from underneath the car. Well, I put the car back in the garage and tried to see where the smoke was coming from but it was too dark by that time. Well, I drove the car to work this morning and noticed the same smoke issue. I opened the hood and I see oil on the fuel injectors that caught my attention. Upon closer examination, the seal along the backside of the valve cover was off when I put it on and now I have a mess to clean up. I plan to use some degreaser along with a regular water hose (unless someone opposes) to clean things up. My only question at this time, is what should I use to cover up my exhaust manifold as I fear water will mess it up. Thoughts?

Engine bay looks real sweet! I was thinking about having my valve cover power coated myself. As far as clean up goes, I've just used brake cleaner fluid after my dip stick pop out and made a real mess. Didn't wanna take a chance with water getting into the electrical components...

So I would just spray the specific areas down and that is it? I was thinking at least a good dry off with a towel or something. And from there, does it just burn off?

Just wrap electrical stuff with a bag... water is not going to damage an exhaust manifold...

I understand, my friend. I guess to be more specific is that I have a nice gold ceramic coating that I am trying to preserve.

So in my case, I had oil spills on the intake manifold and down the side on the alternator. I was able to wipe stuff down with shop towels first and then spray down with brake cleaner. BUT keep in mind, brake cleaner WILL strip painted surfaces so it may not be the best idea if you have massive cleanup to do. If water gets into electrical components, there is a good chance that you will short things out if not completely dried when you start the motor back up. I would rather play it safe but it's your call...

I have the same areas that you mentioned as I have not checked the alternator area yet. I do know for a fact that oil is on the intake manifold, fuel injectors, and I have even seen a few small puddles that have rested on the transmission. I understand about the water and drying and if I opt for that route, I will just keep the hood up all day and allow the hot Arizona heat to do its thing. I could also drive my spare vehicle (minivan) for a few days as well. I am leaning towards Simple Green, soap, and warm water as it seemed to do the trick for everything when I was in the Army.

*** Buschur Double Pumper ***

Tuning with 91-octane is going fairly well right now and those results will be posted via a thread as soon as things are hammered down. I can clearly see that my goals of 500whp on E85 will be easily achieved with room to spare for my current fuel set up. I am thinking about NOT installing the Buschur double pumper I have as it is just sitting in my garage. It is the dual feed kit version of the double pumper and it has less than 1,000. Brand new without a core, these cost $715.

I am thinking about putting this bad boy up for sale.

I just purchased one of the EAAU3090-EA 3" filters for my speed density set up. Awesome!

Any ideas what boost levels you will need to run with the red to hit the 500whp mark on E85? More of a curiosity question. But I'd keep the double pumper in case you wanted more once you surpass your current goal.
