Happy Labor Day everyone!

Yesterday, I was able to put the valve cover back on with a completely new gasket kit. For an added measure, I also put some silicone along the valve cover itself as well as the usual places along the cylinder head.

I put some new spark plugs in the car as well and left them gapped at 0.027. Archie (my installer) convinced me to keep them gapped at 0.027 for driveabilty. He swears by this gap distance. I figured it cannot hurt so I am giving it a shot.

I drove the car for about five miles and it seems like everything is fine and dandy.

I uploaded the latest .rom file that Tom sent to me in order to finalize the 91-octane tune. The car feels phenomenal at 24PSI. I am having some issues trying to get my boost to log properly as it keeps showing 28PSI on the Virtual Dyno chart but I know that Tom said that it was 24PSI. Until I can get this figured out, I will but unable to post those results for the community. Hopefully I/we can get this figured out before I go out of town on Wednesday.

I believe it is 100% time for me to do the full-size battery relocation into the trunk. As the car sits at idle, that joker will just fall dead. This is, of course, after a full charge of the mini battery. Each time the car falls dead, it takes a few more cranks for me to get the car to start.

I believe it is the battery but could it be the alternator?

Log voltage when it dies. See what it was at.

Yes, sir. I will. Can I log voltage and just let the car idle?

I don't think its the mini battery.... I'd check alternator.. I have a mini batt and the car isn't really running off the battery once started, it's going to be drawing most of the current from your alternator I believe.

Assuming that you are correct, the alternator does have nearly 118,000. I will have Archie take a look at it as I plan to leave my car at his shop while I am out of town.

Does your starter feel "weaker" after you've had these episodes? Like someone else stated, best way to diagnose is to keep an eye on the voltage but I am leaning towards an alternator issue as well...

How are you logging your boost? OMNI 4-bar?

I dropped Megatron off at Archie's today since I will be out of town until the 22nd. He is going to install the Amsoil 9" filter as well as the Buschur double pumper. I am hoping that Tom can achieve 600whp once we start the E85 tune. I am pretty content with the 91-octane tune at this point and the results were interesting to say-the-least.

^+ alternator? Yay, finally caved to the double pumper! What was that about selling her for 20k.

Quote: I see your $20 and will raise you another $19,980 to seal the deal, my friend.

Simplest thing to do is test your battery since it is the easiest to remove and have it tested. That alternator is a bear to remove and put back.

Yes, finally caved in with the double pumper, my friend. And yes, if someone comes along, we can discuss the selling "digits" for the car. Until then, I just keep moving along as things are coming along pretty well.

This was the same thing that Archie said as well.

Only thing I can think of that can give you wrong boost reading in the log is either incorrect Request ID or absolute pressure in EvoScan but I am sure Tom went over that with you already.

I am not sure as I have even sent Tom screen captures of my EVO Scan settings. It is strange as I made absolutely no tweaks between my last good (and logged) run and this last one. I am scratching my head.
