- ignition system faulty
- fuel system faulty; injectors or pressure
- vacuum leak
- engine mechanical condition

This is a pretty good site that I plan to follow by the letter in order to diagnose the issues.

2. P0234: turbocharger wastegate system malfunction
The probable causes are:
- turbocharger wastegate actuator failure
- charging pressure control system faulty

Here is the link describing the issue:

I have never seen this code before but then again, this is my first major EVO build. I hate to assume that this comes with the territory as I have to believe that those of you with larger stock frame turbos have overcome this code before.

3. P0455: EVAP system leak detected
The probable causes are:
- faulty fuel cap
- leaking vent or purge solenoil
- EVAP hose faulty
- leak on fuel tank

Here is a link to the description:

http://nissanhelp.com/diy/obd_codes/...itsubishi.html

4. P0300: random cylinder misfire
The probable causes are:
- ignition system faulty
- fuel system faulty; injectors or pressure
- vacuum leak
- engine mechanical condition

Here is a link to the description:

http://engine-codes.com/p0300_mitsubishi.html

It seems like I have a lot of troubleshooting to do in the next few days. I am hoping to have things taken care of by the end of the week.
Who tuned your Evo? P0172 likely means that the injector scaling and/or latency settings are off by quite a bit. P0300 may be a side effect of running too rich. P0234 usually means the boost control solenoid has been disconnected (or is broken). Evap code could be due to several things.

If you're running a double pumper, you most likely have an evap leak. Mr. Fred is spot on with the the other things though.

Adam, it was my pleasure becoming your friend 16-digits at a time. I wish you all the best on your travels.

There is a small bit of business I need you to handle for me if possible. For my last order, I never received the magnetic oil drain plug. Can you help me?

Archie @ PSI in Tucson, Arizona tuned my car. He said that he used ECU Flash (not Tephra v7). He did tell me that he was having issues getting the FIC 1450cc dialed in properly. This weekend, I am taking the car up to Wingz Performance and have Phoung polish the tune.

As for the boost solenoid, should this be an issue if I have the 3-port installed? Or is the 3-port somehow installed in-line with the boost solenoid?

Thanks!

For the second part, there wasn't a magnetic drain plug on your last order. Checkout your last invoice!

This was a pretty good weekend, EVO-wise for me. I was able to knock out a few small projects that have been ankle biters for me.

For starters, I was able to spray paint my Cusco radiator shroud, fuze covers, and valve cover a nice Old Ford Blue. In my opinion, they all came out pretty good. I will post pictures around Tuesday as I need to allow the paint on the valve cover to set a bit more. It also helps that the southern Arizona sun is doing its thing.

The second thing I was able to do is start trying the new Amsoil Z-rod motor oil. At this time, I am still running the Amsoil engine break-in oil for about another 500-miles and then I am going to give this a shot.

The last thing I was able to do was install the Kiggly Racing HLA. Straight up, the installation for this part is insanely and ridiculously easy. It is so easy in fact, that it might make you second guess that you actually did it correctly.

And for grins and giggles, I could not resist a nice picture of the GSC S2 camshafts glowing in the sunlight.

In the next two weeks, I am thinking about installing the Torque Solution short throw shifter.

Looking good! That is some good oil, I used to run strictly Amsoil in my STi. Then I discovered Rotella T6!

Rosella T6 sounds like a chemistry mix. . How much does a quart cost?

One tidbit of information about the DW301 fuel pump. It failed after less than 50-miles. Even with plenty of fuel in the tank, the pump kept overheating and would not build enough fuel pressure. The DW301 was replaced with the tried and true Walbro 255lph and the problem was solved.

More updates will be provided in the next few days as I overlook everything this weekend.
Sorry to be late to the party being Ive been busy at work (yay) but build looks good and I told you so.

Was the pump "bled" or "primed" before installing? It is a turbine style pump and it is recommended to prime the pump to prevent vapor lock and damaging the pump.

Was the o-rings replaced on the pump and its factory connection point on the hanger.

Building no pressure is because of two things;

1. Leak in the system, mostly in the tank where you can't see it.
2. Damaged pump

Adam, at this time I have no clue about those answers. It is all good. Heck, I thought it was just like my old Walbro 255lph. Since the swap, I have had no issues minus all of the check engine codes and tune issues I am currently having.

I understand why you went to a local tuner, and I respect that but I am sure I told you to go to Tom first did I not? I want to see this monster have some awsome #'s and I know he can get them. But I do know through all we talked about keeping it safe so its not down all the time too. Get this thing goin I am excited to see how it turns out in the end when your done tuning. I got my eyes on your build buddy don't let me down now.
