Rev.olution Build. Holy Moly!
UPDATE: As of 8/12/09, the FP 5R cams and the FP5RI/FP11E cam set for the Mitsubishi Evolution 9, will only be available for purchase in pairs.
That is a proper set of cams. A collapsed lifted is from something else like improper install not the Cam grind.

And on a side note, I think if I were to use a cam as big as the FP11, I'd be using solid lifters. As luck would have it though, I will never need a cam that big.
If the lifter is not bleed and cleaned and refilled properly it can cause it to collapse. Usually a collapsed lifter will fix itself eventually but waiting for it to pump up can get annoying. I had one collapse and it took three weeks of daily driving to fix itself. My buddy was driving up the driveway so we could pull the cams and replace it and it stopped right as he was about to get out.

I've read here on evom of bleeding down, cleaning and refilling a lifter as outlined in the service manual, and I've also read to just bleed them down.
The lifter that you had collapse, what way did you install the lifters? And by doing it that way, did you cause it to collapse by doing it incorrectly?
Back to the build thread, the point is that the cam wasn't what it was soposed to be and 2 lifters collapsed. I hope it all gets sorted by c130flyer soon. Sounds like he's doing a great job getting rid of the gremlins.
I can't wait to see it when it's done. I'm going to be afraid to sit in the passenger seat of this thing.
At that time I bled them but didn't refill them. They are noisy that way for a while but they won't lock open and cause bent valves. Now I rarely bleed them because by the time I finish doing everything else with a Cam install the lifters bleed themselves back down from spring pressure and they are quiet. Not the right way but it has worked for me. Good luck on the build. Those seer some HUGE cams!

In other news, Modular Turbo fixed my lifters, and my new cam will be in Monday.
