Rev.olution Build. Holy Moly!
Greetings. My name is Rev. Aaron Treadwell and I had a super idea: tear down my 600whp evo and build something faster. I've recently graduated from my second masters program, and received a new church, so this seemed like the perfect time for a new build. First and foremost, I'd like to shout-out all those who have helped me:
Lucky & Nick @ Tach Motor Works
Erkel @ ESPEC
Rob @ Modular Turbo
Mike @ Top Level Performance
Tom @ TSCOMPUSA
Junior @ JWFabrications
Nick @ Welding Magnificent
qiksilver, J_Striker, Camrymatic
my build list:
Engine
- Manley I-Beam Turbo Tuff
- Wiseco Pistons 1400HD 10.5:1 2.4
- ACL Main & Rod Bearings
- SuperTech Dual Spring/Retainer
- FP5R Cams
- Fidanza Adjustable Gears
- H11 Map Main Studs
- Vibrant Vacuum Line Kit
- ETS Light weight battery
- Precision Turbo 6766 CEA T3
- 4" K&N Filter
- AEM Tru-Boost Controller
- Tial Q BOV (Red)
- JIC Catback Exhaust
- AMS Under Hood Bushings
- HKS 4" Intake Pipe
- ID 2200cc Fuel Injectors
- Muse LICP
- Custom ETS UICP
- ETS 3.5 Intercooler
- EvilEngineering T3 Manifold
- ETS O2 Housing
- AMS F1-I Intake Manifold
- AEM Wideband Air/Fuel
- Buschur Double Pumper
- 6 dash fuel line
- ETS Down Pipe
- Spoolin' Up Cop
- AEM Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator
- LR 2.4 Block
- Omnipower 4 Bar MAP Sensor
- Two Walbro 255lph Fuel Pumps
- Kiggly HLA
- Custom Hobbs Switch
- Tial External Wastegate

- STM Clutch Fork Stop
- O-Ringed Block
- Custom 2.4 Buschur Head Gasket
- Sightglass Clear Cam Gear Cover
- Main ARP Head Studs
- High Temp Termal Coating on Manifolds and Valve Cover
I experienced 600whp before, so I wanted something gaudy and forever satisfying. Therefore I spoke to my boy Erkel @ Top Speed, now @ ESPEC and he recommended I go big or go home. I bought my 2.4 from Erkel, my 6766 from Mike @ TopLevel, and it was on.
As we all know, Erkel left Top Speed as it holding it down in his new shop, but Lucky and Nick @ Tach Motor Works completed building my crate motor. They did an awesome job assembling and o-ringing my block. They did a 5 angle valve job, and had shipped me a timed and primed 2.4 crate motor.
Once received, I did the honors of putting everything in. While I was waiting for the motor to come in, I kept busy on the forums and picked up some additional body and suspension parts:
Suspension / Brakes / Wheels
- Tanabe Springs
- Evo 9 Struts
- Exedy Clutch
- Exedy Stage 5 HD Triple Clutch Kit
- 4 25mm Hubcentric Wheel Spacers
- RX-7 Non-Reinforced 16" Wheels
- XXR 526 Chromium Black 18x9 +25
- EVO IX LSD
- Weir Performance Reardiff Rebuild
- Transfer Case Rebuild
- DME Rear Upper Strut Tower Bar
- 245/40ZR18 XL Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110
- Power Slot Rotors
- Stop Tech Break Pads Exterior
- EVO VIII Varis Front Lip
- EVO VIII Varis Wide Fenders
- VIS Carbon Fiber Hood
- VIS Carbon Fiber Spoiler
- JDM EVO Rear
- JDM EVO 9 Tailights
As parts started coming in, the installations began. My boy Rob @ Modular Turbo rebuilt my diff and transfer case in no time at all, giving me the LSD and 12 plate setup I dearly needed. Also, Props to NICK for the awesome work on my O2 Housing, intercooler piping, soon to be dump tube, exhaust, bla, bla bla

ANd proof I didn't hide the build from my wife. Well at least most of it, she doesn't know the price, lol.

So I got the car home, starting on the tuning with Tom @ TSCOMPUSA, and lets just say my new car is a popular guy. Some kids decided to play around and abused my hood, and some other stuff. Not a problem. Geico had my back.
I just finished installing the parts this past weekend, and am still waiting for my carbon fiber wing and hood. Nonetheless, I did what some dread, FLAT BLACK. Here's some low quality photos of what will be.
As you can see where the hood is still dented. It will be tossed once my hood comes in.
Once my car is done with paint, I will be relocating my battery to the trunk, install pics to follow
