Looking forward to more pics. S1s are a little out of place in your build though haha

yeah, thats about what you would want for a motor that big... but it looks like you are going for more response more than anything, so maybe you are on the right track

lol yeah i started the same.. stock block w/ fp black.. then popped that.. so said f it... get a 2.4 stock head... then said why not build the head.. then said why not upgrade to a t3 turbo... seems like it never stops.. hopefully it will one day but i dont want to get bored and eventually try to sell it.

what are your hp goals for this build? Looks like the s1's and the single whinebro are going to hold you back.
edit* Just saw that you had an external fuel pump. carry on lol. Still, the s1's and the injector's look a little small. Are you going to be running strictly pump gas on this?

Goals where when I built the car was 500hp 500ft lbs.. But at the same time have enough room to play with if I get bored with that and wouldn't have to re-build again. The car will be on pump gas for now.. But I plan on doing a duel map for e85 but at that time I know I will need more injectors and prob do s3s.. I just didn't want the car to have that laggy late spool feeling

you may wana consult English Racing.. they suggest S3's with 2.3s and 4s period for good reason..

Hope we are still tuning it but if not I would love to see what it does on our dyno again someday.

I think the S1's were from the stock turbo build.
I run S1's in my 2.4 I know S2s will make more hp but I like to have my smooth old man idle.

I am a fan of the S2 as the best street cam. The amount of idle quality and hp loss below 5k is not worth the little extra hp at 7k in my book for S3's

So, I am just trying to make sure I am understanding what you are saying here, as I am looking to do a low end focused 2.3 build (and I still have my current S1s from my stock block)...

In your opinion, all else being equal, if you are focused on the below 7k range in the powerband S1s may be a better option than S2s? I was under the impression from other posts (from English as well as other shops) that S2s were outright better, no loss across the powerband, only gain.

Just trying to understand.

Yes in power band the S2's are the better then S1's except for idle. S1's can sound almost like stock on a larger motor ware S2's will have a very camed out idle which most people like. This is all EVOVIII info. A IX with Mevic can make S2's idle real smooth.

I can see ware my post looked a bit off. I was comparing s2 to s3 in the above comment.
