I'd love to get my evo down to that kinda weight range. Good luck with the new year. I look forward to seeing it at the shootout.

thanks man and i hope to see you there as well. i think i found another 8 to 10Lbs. im trying to find the correct parts and supply's needed to do the project. i got MP-Fab looking it up as well so more on this IF it works out.

small update. nothing cool or fun. i contacted 3 Ebay sellers for the GodSpeed sway bars. asking each seller to please weigh EACH swaybar. i want to confirm i am getting the light ones. anyways all 3 sellers responded with different answers.

seller 1. 10lbs
seller 2. 8lbs
seller 3. 13lbs. ''im guessing this lazy F didnt remove it from the box''

now IMO all 3 didnt remove it from the box but seller 1. and 2. said they did. so i do not know what to do. the listing says built with chromoly.

can any of you godspeed buyers help me out here please.

I'm pretty sure Chris aka StreetThisEvo is using the GodSpeed sway bars on his car, I'm sure he weighed them, shoot him a PM & ask.

I know he does and he posted weights and they match a few other guys weights.

I spoke with another ebay seller. He said 6 front 5 rear. Good enough for me. There ordered

As for my possible 8/10 pound finding. It is now looking to be near 20. That's huge and the project is a go. It's gonna cost me a nice dime but the end result will be wonderful. I got to drop some parts off to the CNC shop in the next few days.

MP-Fab can make them as well and honestly be just as light or maybe lighter but this guy is local and I get to be apart of such a bad *** machine.

Nice Runs. I would recommend ditching your current slick set up and going to much bigger side wall. Your current wheel and tire setup will kill you drive train.

i wanted to drive to the track run 9s and drive home. that has been the goal for a long time. now that i have done that i feel i have a true 9 second street car that is actually enjoyable to look at.

since that goal is complete i do plan to put 16s on the car and a QTP tire. i see good results with that combo so that is what i am going to do from here on out.

Copied directly from my 2012 build thread (which also contains photos of them installed)

Today I spent a little time out in the garage. I ended up buying a pair of GodSpeed sway bars off of Ebay. I heard they were super light and are cheap as ****!!!! I didn't want to remove them as I still drive on the street quite a bit but am not really into autocrossing, road racing, etc...But I also didn't want to spend $450-$500 on name brand sway bars. Not to mention the GodSpeed sway bars are lighter than all of the aftermarket ones on the market. Here is where they came in at:

OEM IX front sway bar - 10.4 lbs
GodSpeed front sway bar - 5.2 lbs

Weight saved = 5.2 lbs (front)

OEM IX rear sway bar - 10.2 lbs
GodSpeed rear sway bar - 5.2 lbs

Weight saved = 5.2 lbs (rear)

Total weight savings = 10.4 lbs

Overall I am actually very happy with how they fit. The welds didn't look that bad and the finish seemed to be decent. The kicker about all of this....THEY WERE ONLY $150 SHIPPED TO MY DOOR!! And that was for both.

I figued they probably won't perform any better than that of the OEM ones but should be right on par. I'm happy and would suggest these to anyone looking to accomplish the same goals as me.

I'll try and get some photos tomorrow of them installed on the car!!

Hope that helps!

I saw that when you built the new setup. This along with 03 and someone else also posted similar weights. I just think these ebay sellers are lazy. I ordered a set from a guy who actually weighed them out for me.

If your drag racing just toss the sway bars and there's 20 pounds of savings right there.

10lbs at the most with Godspeed bars. 20 over stock yes. And its not a drag car as I drive it nearly everyday when its not broken or raining/snowing.

You going to run a 9180 with a 1.45 AR twin scroll?

TRE t/c?

Have you removed your clutch stop already?

Any word on the aluminum spindles you were talking to fairclough about awhile back? I bet those would save a fair about of weight .

No. I don't think there that great. I am keeping the 6466.

No. My buddy who used to own dogbox racing is doing it.

No I kept that. I thought with the QM clutches you needed one.

I finally got my hands on 1 front and 1 rear spindle. I will be bringing them with me to my buddy who is doing the cnc work on some other parts. If the price is acceptable I will have them made. But I don't know what it will be available for the market. I did not calculate the spindles into this build because I don't know when or if the project will be done.
