Worked till about 11.30 last night taking the engine apart, documenting as I go .

Everything looks to be in good shape, and I think I caught it in time. It will need a new crankshaft as there are some scratches on the journals from the debris. however rods and pistons look great.

I am also going to be building another engine to go with this one, that way I will always have a back up motor.

later

crank and other components have arrived. So friday I will drop all this stuff off to the machine shop to begin the process. I don;t know what it is about seeing a stack of parts on the porch ..

While that occurs I am going to take the oppurtunity to take some more weight out of this pig.

Happy 4th everyone.

Weight with 18s , me ( 170) and 3/4 tank of gas is 3040
With slicks , me and 3/4 tank of gas car is 2984

Everything has been dropped off to the machine shop.. Crank could have got away with a polish, but since I got the new crank I will use that in this engine.

For my back up motor, I am going to most likely do an aluminum rod engine.

I know matt is going to the shootout.. are you going Mrboost? I am hunting right now for a 67mm turbo as my wife has instructed me to buy a new turbo and transmission is off to TRE for some treatment as well

Are you going to change out your intake manifold with the magnus V5. I would love to see how it compares to the AMS F1.

there are lots of threads, that show the differences in these two manifolds. Really depends on what you are trying to do with your car.

Maybe I will throw these on my sonic nozzle flow stand and see how much it flows

In other news.. took my transfer case in to get serviced.. Magnafluxing shows cracking in my Ring gear and outer housing of LSD. FML

additionally 4th gear showed some signs of wear in my trans..

There goes a bunch of money that I didn't have to begin with.. But such is shootout month..

still staying positive 2150s are back from FIC and are in stellar shape. Also I picked up an ACT monoloc piece to go with the new tre trans and T case. Hopefully this car will shift by itself and suck my peepee at the same time as it goes down the track.

Best of luck getting her back together quickly.

Good deal, there should be a decent size group of us, just look for a bunch of fellows wearing "antilag racing" T shirts which is our team/club. I typically run Q16 but that was in my eclipse. This will be the first time I will attempt to qualify for the EE class. In light of the issues with my T case, I will not be getting a bigger turbo this season, but I would go with the 3794 when the funding is available.
