Antilag_200 attempts a Wire Tucking Project
Nice wire harness man. I'm an avionics technician btw so I'm more than familiar with your wire project.
A couple things though.
1. Don't use metal pin inserters or metal pin pullers. The metal inserters or pullers will damage the water tight seal and the pin locking mechanism inside the connector. One plastic pin puller/inserter will last me all day. Be careful though, don't break the tip of the pin puller off inside the connector. You'll have to cut that wire and replace the entire connector because that pin is not coming out.
2. That string you were using is still used today in 21st century military aviation. We call it 'cat gut'. It has several names though. If you have string that is waxed it's good to heat that wax when your done. The hardened wax will hold your knots real nice.
3. You're lucky you can get good heat shrink. It's impossible for us to get that stuff. Ours has to be aviation approved or what not.

Also for anyone wanting reference material on how to do the connector building, crimping, or lacing google NAVAIR 01-1A-505−1. That's the Navy and Marine Corps manual for aviation wiring.
thank you for the kind words
I have the utmost respect for professionals as yourself, as it takes significant patience and skill to build harnesses to your level. Thank you for the tips and suggestions. My one biggest regret is not using new wire and not using the glue to seal the end of the shrink wrap.
There is some cool stuff in there thanks for the info.

Picked the block and head up yesterday from machine shop.. So I can begin assembling everything. The crank bearings looked great and the machine shop was able to polish the crank out, so I will be fortunate to use it for the spare built short block that I will put together this winter.
4 WEEKS UNTIL THE SHOOTOUT!!!!!!!!!
still waiting on trans and tcase.

still waiting on trans and tcase.
Busy weekend working on everyone elses car, as they are preparing for the shootoutout as well. However I still had a little time to assemble the engine with the help of my son and jeremy
My 2.5 year old son is borderline fanatical when it comes to engines and evos.
You can see his first engine laying on the ground in the pictures below.( old cbr engine for his shifter kart project)

Tonight I will add the turbo assembly and intake side so that the only thing left is obtaining the Trans and Tcase.

You know they have it in their blood

I always wondered how my 18m/o son figuered out how flip his trucks over to pretend to work on them
guess he really does mimic everything i do!
Thanks Matt
Fully agree patrick, the 4g63 is embedded in my sons brain, that is for sure. He tells me whenever another evo come to the house " Is that evo.. Broken Too"
In other news.. I hope to pick up my transmission and Tcase this friday. My transfer case was a older built unit from TRE, however based on the magnafluxing, the RS lsd cover has a microcrack in it, so due to the time constraints, a Wavetrac unit is going to be installed in its place. I am really excited about this diff and hopefully it offers me years of service.

Busy weekend again, running around with our heads cut off..
Friday , We went down to pick up the transmission and tcase from TRE, per usual always awesome stuff from that shop, and Jon Ripple is DA MAN !!
Nasty T case with wavetrac center diff

New billet inspection cover with trash magnet ( TRE always one up on the rest)

Next up is the Trans, all freshened up ( no 4.11 final drive unfortunately as I ran out of cash)

Friday late night and a little of saturday , jeremy and I dressed up the block

and she is in

We fired her up and everything seemed to be inorder, video coming soon, just a couple of fuel leaks at the rail.
Tied up a few more things last night like the exhaust etc, biggest hurdle now is trying to cut my rotors because they are severely glazed from the oil getting on them, so that will be taken care of sometime this week.
Finally a confirmation of what I have been saying all along.... which is why this ( pic below) is engraved on my CDI box
