Antilag_200 attempts a Wire Tucking Project
Worked on my catch can some more this weekend, constructed the block vent lines and also building the drain line.
This is the first time that I have welded aluminum so the welds are not very pretty.
tucked between the radiator and front mount IC

Twin -10 an lines from the head and twin -6 an lines from the block

overview

weld shot

another weld shot

drain line finished in hard line

Changing the coil on plug plate so that I have a little more wiggle room for the wires under it ( Thanks Joe)

More importantly I weighed the car a few days ago 3040 Ibs including me( 170 ) and 3/4 tank of gas( 72) . This is with the 18 inch wheels as well , So dry weight of the car is just a few ticks over 2800 Ibs.

can we get some pics of the lines on the block and on the valve cover?
i know you said your welds are not the greatest but IMO there bad ***. you designed the catch can your self, the welds work and will get the job done and you did them your self and that is awesome stuff to me. great job.

Thanks for the kind words, They are appreciated. Tig welding is an entirely new ball game for me, where previousily I would design and mock up stuff and then ship off to welders. I wanted to learn a new skill, so basically said to hell with it, I will invest in some equipment.. Which is why when I see stuff like what drifto and collin do with a tig welder, I am in shear awe of their talents.

I feel like sharing some pictures with some of you folks of the other cars that I have built with the help of my brother Jeremy. As you can tell a bit of a 4g63 enthusiast.
First up my awd colt

engine shot

next is my beloved 1990 fwd car, I have owned it since 2001 and I bought it bone stock. It needs some updating especially in the ecu control side of things, since we still use an afc and ford meter to tune it. My next thing to do on my never ending list of stuff is to freshen the engine with bearings and update the camshafts as they are 2003 technology.

also quick cameo pic of the evo with slicks from a few seasons ago

enjoy

Thanks, it is similiar to yours, because I used yours and wheatleys for inspiration
build thread for colt if you care to look , No teasing here, I bet if you built a colt you could do one for under 6k, less money than one of dans unobtanium front K members

Got some of parts back from the annodizer yesterday
the catch can

and here it is installed ,

Dan you asked about the lines coming from the block it is kind of difficult to see in this picture, but the line that has the black heat sheeting on it , is the one coming from the block

On the dip stick welded up a fitting to it and then simply attach your fittings and lines of choice, in my case it was pro-lite line with earls -6 fittings

Picture of the lines of the head can be found at the link below: The system of the head is virtually the same from what I did in 2008

Coil on plug plate

and the center plate is for my ignition box

Jeremy was working on the idle tune, and the next phase will be to dial the fuel, as it is running a little rich down low. More to come

Yes that is stainless steel safety wire, basially the studs were backing out of the manifold, even though I had spring lock washers in there. Basically drill the studs and insert safety wire, I have not had an issue in 3 years or so doing it like this.
Damn Warren!
Didn't even finish the 1st page and i already have a brain ache LOL
Awesome thread and glad you decided to tackle this NOT me
However nice to know if ever i can refer back keep up the hard work man....

Nothing really major to report installed the billet cover and dressed it up with some carbon

thinking of picking up evo dans coil protectors, I think that would add some bling to it
purchased one of marcos oil filters too
*****in little piece of work

Just been trying to figure out a lean spot in lower rpm point of the tune, so that has been challenging.
My next project, is changing out the intercooler pipes to aluminum and adding adel wiggins or vanjen clamps so that should be exciting for me.
