Antilag_200 attempts a Wire Tucking Project
So far I would say 170 hours. And thank you for the comments.. I want to put my engine in so badly, but I still have to do some crap with the powersteering and front sway bar, so its going to be a few more weeks.
It is difficult to see what everything will look when there is no engine in there, but I think it will turn decent for the most part..
anymore cool carbon parts angryevo ?

Worked on this thing for another 7 odd hours today, ( It is starting to wear on me thats for sure). At the end of the day you can pick all the nuts out of the ****, but it is still poop after all the work.
So started up with wiring in the defi gauges and wideband. Once that was completed. I made a gauge sensor harness that ran to the engine compartment. Shrouded with heat shrink tubing to tidy things up

Was expecting a smoke show when I attached the battery , but everything seemed to work ..( have a few burnt out bulbs in the cluster though)The defi gauges turned out well

a shot of the interior

Next I cut all the unused posts on the firewall, as I am tired of those things nicking me everytime I wrench on the car. Masked everything off and shot it with some satin black.

firewall turned out alright

had a chance to mount up my fuel press regulator.. Next is to build the fuel lines

and finally a shot of the bay

Enjoy.

Every time I look wire harness threads like these it gives me axniety, haha. Great job man, harness & engine bay look awesome. Knowing the amount of hrs you & Collin have put into building your harnesses is nuts.
Thank you I appreciate it
Thanks I appreciate, the goal is so that you can't see any of it
It is definitely a looooot of hours, but something different thats for sure. It is also a good exercise, if you want to learn the electrical aspects of the car.

I haven't really done anything with wiring as it is basically completed.
Mostly I have been screwing around with the engine bay, Installed a God speed sway bar ( that fking sucked)

I have been waiting for the whiteline steering rack bushings to show up ( they should be in today) , so basically once that is installed, it will be time for the engine.
I also got some old school volk gt7 not a popular style, but I think they will complement the car

anyway it is getting close folks.

Spent a few more hours on the chassis, working with the power steering lines and removing the stock fuel lines of the car. Also I had to repair one of my defi sensor leads, so I used the gold pins again with the deutsch connector

Yesterday was a relatively warm day , and I need the space in the garage, so it was time to install the motor. Thanks Jeremy and Nick.
Installed the billet trans mount

a few minutes later

It looks so bare in there now that all the wires are gone.

Hopefully today I can add the turbo assembly and starter side, so that I can finish that section.

Wow that really looks good. Like someone said, looking at this and thinking about attempting it makes my hands sweat. haha
I work in Naval aviation so I'm real familiar with everything you used and let me tell you that you did not go wrong with that stuff. You must have spent a pretty penny on it though. That stuff will probably last longer than the car.

thank you .
The wife has made it abundantly clear, that she wants that evo running before March... I had to politely tell her that it wasn't going to happen.... but I am trying given that certain schedule we call life..
From attaching the entire drivetrain, to checking brake lines, to tightening bolts to spec... its been in the details for the last 10 hours or so, however its been coming along.
On to the picture montage as most of you are accustomed too.
Had to retap the radiator while my son supervised.

Got a piece I have been waiting for a while.. My new Throttle body. Per usual my son has to analyze the component, so that it passes his strict quality control.

whats trick about these throttlebodies is that that you can change the ring to accept either stock size piping or the 75 mm piping, by simply bolting adapters on

looking good with the vsr and magnus rail

detail showing the o ring seal surface on front side

a poor picture of the front of the car, completed with clip

believe it or not, but this engine bay is 100% wired

enjoy
