PATRICK B.'s "new" for 2013 thread......are 8's in the future???
Well it's just about racing time for me again so I figured I’d make a new thread to consolidate the info from the past years as well as to add what will be going on this year after taking a little over a year off from racing.
The reason for the time off was 2 fold:
1) The birth of my son (Logan)
2) At the end of the 2011 (December) when the car ran it's best pass to date 9.65@151mph the car had a bad mis-fire and come to find out that the #4 cylinder spark plug strap broke off and bounced around the combustion chamber enough to kill compression and scratch the wall so a re-build was needed after 4 yrs of racing, dyno tuning, and of course some street adventures.
This is my 2006 WW EVO IX RS w/ 5000miles on the odometer!
I bought this from a buddy of mine back in late 2006 that at the time had one of the 1st 10sec Evo’s on the stock motor and Shearer GT35R turbo kit.
Shortly thereafter it spun a balance shaft bearing and my buddy made me a good deal so I picked it up and started my build to where it is today.
From there the car had been on a long road to becoming a legit 9 sec car that is not a DD by any means but IMO is a very streetable Evo that can quickly go from looking stock on the outside to race ready
………it has seen many different parts from the GT35R .63A/R to a larger .82A/R then to a PTE 6262 and now on the PTE 6766 and everything from 91 pump gas to leaded race gas to straight pump E85 which it is now on (complete mod list below)
To keep things short here are links to follow along the past years progress etc.

YUP you read that right the newest addition to the list for 2013 is a SHEP TRANS dogbox!

After beating up enough trans parts over the last few years it was time to make a decision and as much as I’d love to run a auto set-up there just isn’t anything available yet and so 1 day I found a great deal from a member here and jumped on it………….come to find out that it initially was off of Jeremy’s (FathouseFabrictions) Evo and since it had exchanged hands to be safe I sent it to Shep and had them go through it and they said everything looked 100% good to go
On that note I’d like to thank the guys at SHEP TRANS for their customer service which is SUPERB especially Gary and Trevor for getting me the trans ASAP after a shipping error had occurred.
Here are a couple pics so you have an idea of what it looks like

This is the most recent dyno result before the -6 fuel feed line was added soooo with the weight i think it should tickle the 8.999-9.000 range but only time will tell.....
(777 HP / 550 TQ)

Also I need to send some love to those that directly help out on the car as although it may seem to be a “shop car” it really is a privateer endeavor with me funding the entire thing but of course I can not have gotten this far w/o the help of the guys @ FFTEC MOTORSPORTS for their knowledge, hard work, support, and mainly friendship:
- William
- Sean
- Jesse
- Dave
- Mike
- James
- Freddy
- Anthony
- Aaron
- Jesse #2
And last but not least my wife Marichris for dealing with my time-consuming passion!!!

UPDATE 4/30/13
Thanks for taking a look and for the the words of support!
Chris - Sorry man you can't have it lol at least not this year but we can talk maybe around winter
Jeremy - So far i'm PHUKIN LOVIN the way this trans shifts wait til you see the in-car vids
Joey - Thanks as always for the open ears and please send my regards to Devin and tell him i apprecite the info and time.......btw since you and Chris are now on the 8 head i'm thinking a healthy goal is to shoot for your best MIVEC results as i don't have enough weight out of the car with the cage and all to get close to Mike@AWD's record lol..........gotta dangle some kina carrot in front of me to keep me pushing forward
Anyway on to the updates...............double checked the pump E85 that had been sittinng in the car since it was tuned last a month or so ago
(slightly over-filled but you get the point)

(Sean double checked the afrs after the -6 fuel feed line was put in which showed about a 7% richer afr)

(Ended up with this and this is where we will start and will slowly turn it up at the track once i can shake down the car again, log the tune, and dial in the launch settings, etc)

(Going to run a smaller 24.5" M&H slick this year per Shep's recommendation.......i like the way the smaller slick looks and i think i will finally get around to removing the red lip on the Rotas!)

Just a couple of exterior pics of what it looks:
(after adjusting the rear suspension 3/4" lower to accomdate the smaller slicks......i will bring the front down about 1/4" and throw on a 10mm spacer on the rear wheels)

(This one came out nice especially in black&white so here ya go)
