A few things. Glade to see your ok and that your ok. Like you said you could do a tubular front kinda like badevO. If you don't keep your rooms would you maybe willing to part out your center caps. I think we have the same rims

Thanks. Ya its not to bad really. I'm confident i can get it back to where it was prior to the accident. No problem at all.

I seen those on amazon. I picked one up but didn't use it yet. We had some pipe extension pieces here laying around and used a bat and some other misc things and managed to get the inlets much better then prior.

Thank you

I am going to keep the wheels and just repair them. I am also buying a set of 9 BBS from a customer/friend also. so ill have two sets.

I don't think im doing the tubular front, but if they say the front cant be pulled back out and needs a new U piece then i will do it probably. When done right, the tubular is stronger or just as strong depending on its mounting on the frame rails.

These are the FQ400 wheels off the UK evo.

I know people want to see where it happened and damage before i touched the car, so here it is.

This is the pointing the opposite way it happened. But you can see how big the embankment is. its about 10ft high.

Here is the tree it almost hit. Its very faint, but you can see the two sets of marks in the grass. the one set is about 4-5ft from the tree. At the time of being in that area i was traveling about 30mph maybe. The rear of the car nipped the fence.

This is pointing the way it happened. This was a stupid road to boost hte car on as you can see.

and here is the damage of the car before i touched or cleaned anything up:

Thankfully the car has been cleaning up nicely though as you can see in the two videos i made here https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/11065488-post56.html

So i should have it back and running in the next few weeks hopefully.

If your rims are not bent, drop them off at my shop and I will repair the damage on the lips. A fresh paint job and they will be as good as new.

Thanks Don! I'll definitely take you up on that offer

I should have it fixed by the end of this month hopefully if all goes as planned.

I will post pics of once its fixed minus the wheels. I will do those last.

I bought another set of wheels also off a evo 9. the BBS for backup wheels.

Im going to start researching into a better tire like I had before. The Bridgestone RE11 I had before seemed to be a pretty good tire when I had them.

I did not do the tube front. Its a street car, so i don't want to change anything aside from factory structure.

Thank you B.J

I just got it back from the body shop a few days ago. I test fitted the old bumper, and it is perfect. I couldnt ask for a better fitment.

Heres a pic of the new radiator support. (crappy outside pic for now).

I will take a new pic once everythings back together.

I also think I know what mainly triggered the accident. I am using a 44mm tial WGA and i did not plug the wastegate with the supplied plugs on the additional air ports.

I used the top port only which is not even an air port I dont think. So the wastegate never opened. I have no idea what boost the car hit, but it spun 3rd like it was 1st as i said earlier in here.

Thank god i had a customer say something random to me in email about his wastegate and said something about plugging additional air ports and i thought to myself wtf? and realized i didn't do that on my car.

I should have everything back together soon. Just waiting on a few misc stuff for the front bumper yet.

From what I understand, using the MVR wg; if you're using a MBC, you use the top-side port for the MBC while leaving the top port open on the WG. If you're using an EBC, you use the top port on the wg as a "boost reference" line and hook the EBC up to the top-side port.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, I've read some conflicting information.

I was using a 3 port and a mbc together. To make matters even worse, when I was making sure to set the boost to wastegate I forgot i had the mbc in the car, and only zero'ed out the WGDC in the ecu. Later I checked the mbc and it was 8 full turns up! Heres a diagram I found on tials website regarding the 44mm.

According to this the top port is also an air port.

This weekend hopefully I will snap some new pics and update with some positive stuff.

So I'm assuming from the pics that you were not running a filter on your turbo at the time of the accident, was the turbo damaged at all from dirt/grass flying around?

The car is surprisingly not bad for hitting a bank at the top of 3rd with 4.11 FD. I came 1ft away from cracking a huge tree that would have ended everything no question in my mind, but the cause of it is what sucks the most.

I normally would have had my laptop in the car logging the pull and never would have taken my eyes off the road, but the hard drive died in it recently and the only other laptop i had no battery power left.

I took it upon myself to take the car out thinking i would be ok to just watch the AFR gauge. I think the biggest mistake i made was watching the AFR gauge as the car spooled. I never thought it would hit so hard so soon taking off at 3500 it hit very hard by 4k. the second it hit the tires were roasting. Whats weird is, it was so smooth i couldnt feel or tell it was spinning until it was to late.

I looked up and i was sideways headed for a tree i panic'ed and over corrected i think and put the car into a left and right wobble where i then later lost control and it shot up a 8-10ft bank and the car was airborn for about 50ft or more. As it was in the air all i thought was "im going to die this sucks, theres nothing i can do about whats about to happen and i didnt want to go out this way".

As the car came down it came down on 2 wheels sideways i just barely got to turn it away from the tree i was going straight for at the time in the air which gave me the feeling i was done. I managed to turn it away from the tree last minute and that was it.

Now the damage isnt all that bad granted how severe the incident was. I got extremely lucky.

The front bumper end tanks are bent where the couplers go a bit
The one portion of the upper ic pipe is bent closed alittle
The front bumper is destroyed
The radiator support / bottom portion (mitsubishi calls this the headlamp support) that is bent pretty bad which is going to need to be fixed at a frame place.
Both couplers on the FMIC are torn almost clean in half
2 flat tires, 3 curbed wheels. might be cracked on some.
side skirt busted and ripped off the side.

Surprisingly no fender damage, or headlight damage, or for that matter no body damage aside from the front bumper.

Please guys when driving your cars never take your eyes off the road. You never know what can happen if you're not focused on whats going on.

This almost makes me want to remove gauges from my car because they are worthless at this power level.

I'll share some pics later. I estimate its about $2000 in damage.

Other then that, the car really shocked me. It feels as responsive as my old 2.3 and fp black setup and it is worlds smoother in boost. it is going to be a major handful that is all i know. I am half afraid of the car now. I may just retire it and use it for the track only and get another car for the street with a smaller setup.

Glad your ok Tom, Now you understand why I didn't want to do pulls later in the evening being your roads are a little bigger then mine out here, and the fact we have more deer. I saw all the pics and man you got lucky.... Guess you and Will both have something in common now lol. Looking forward to seeing how this ends up being you now this is the setup I wanted for my car. Anyways good luck with it man again glad your safe.
