E85 here is basically clear with a very light pink tinge.
Have seen brown stuff from a station in Sydney around ~100miles away, looks rusty as.

I don't even run e85 but I know it's never yellow like that. Sucks you are having these fuel issues Tom, hopefully you get it sorted out soon.

my E85 is just clear.

i was going to suggest replacing the filter, my tuner had a similar problem with the filter with almost exact same symptoms.

hope it gets sorted out soon! Build is awesome

Ironically, Jet Fuel is the only type of fuel that is referred to as being "straw" in color.

I think its clean e85, its just all the dirt and build up, just gave it a very dark yellow tinted dirty color.

Just to be safe im going to call the gas station though since its a membership type station where you need an account and card to access the pumps. so just to be safe im going to ask if they could check it before i go and waste more $ on it.

The main issue was the inline fuel filter was so clogged i couldn't blow through it. once i switched that it was ok until the primary fuel pump clogged its sock/filter again.

hopefully i can get this resolved soon. if for some odd reason it is not fixable and keeps clogging up ill have to drop the tank. i hope not.

Tom, Pick up five gallons of straight gas. Remove both access covers. With both drain plugs out, dump a couple of gallons in each side and let it run out the drain plugs. I am available all day if you would like my assistance. I only live a few miles away and plan on picking up E85 at Mollies in Manheim. If you want me to grab you some for you, let me know by lunch.

Don

Too bad you're not closer. I'm dropping my gas tank next month for a fuel cell, I'd just give you my old tank.

Hey Don. I just now seen this. I spoke to the gas station and they are sending a technician to the tank tomorrow to test it. but they told me they test them regularly on a weekly basis because of how ethanol attracts water so they keep an eye on the tanks daily.

They told me that the color of the ethanol is perfectly normal and it usually has a slight tint of yellow to it, but it varies depending on how its fermented or something. i forget the exact words they used.

They said the same thing you just did also. to run regular gas through it to make sure all the water is gone and that the regular gas has more cleaning agents then the e85 so they recommended running that through it to properly get it clean and then follow it with e85 again.

The station i go to is 1 mile from my house so its pretty close!

What color was your ethanol? can you pour some in a clear tube/glass and let me know? just curious.

They also asked me if i let the gas sit in my tank and for how long. i told them one year. they asked me if the tank was full or not. I said half way. they made a big deal about that and said it attracts water like crazy when its not full to the top and stored for long periods of time.

Thanks for the offer though! Weather is starting to get a lot nicer now. although now it is complete crap outside temporary.

Fueling issue is somewhat fixed. its still 12.5 downlow. to lean for me, but i will tune that out. Here is a video I made. It holds solid 12's across now and IDC is 80% so it def is getting fuel.

Im still a little concerned though in regards to the Fuelab 818 flowing ability. I can barely blow through my inline fuel filter system that means its a major restriction if id had to guess. This is with a 6 micron fiberglass filter.

The 40 micron SS seemed to be easy to blow through, but after talking to both fuelab and kinsler they both said not to run 40 micron with fuel injectors since it risk getting contaminated.

The original inline fuel filter the br double pumper comes with is a paper 10 micron.

Not sure what im going to do about the inline filter just yet. Fuelab claims its normal to have a really hard time blowing through their 6 micron filter when its wet with fuel.

Do not mind me getting excited and saying stupid stuff.

I sound like a little kid in the video. It is funny. That's why i didn't edit it out. It is very unprofessional, but im sure you guys don't mind a little entertainment.

Thanks Oz. Ya I will lol. That road it cant hook on very good. It does hook just fine on the interstate roads though in 3rd. I can see myself upping the boost on the interstate. It feels a lot safer on there.

So if Fuelab said do not run the 40 micron stainless steel filter what do they suggest to run with e85? Is it the 6 micron fiberglass element that you originally had or something different?
