EVOjunky - 2.0L 6766 Build Thread!

Hello everyone,

Last fall I started a build on my EVO. I didn't want to start a build thread earlier and bore you with small stupid updates every week so now that im a month away from finishing it up ill post up my plans and more importantly, the pictures!

Motor:
Self Machined and Built
Half Filled block
OEM Micro-Polished Crank
Carillo Pro-H Beam rods with Carr bolts
Wiseco 10.5:1 HD2 Pistons
Fluidampner
GSC S3 Cams
GSC Beehive Springs
L19 Head Studs
OEM headgasket
Stock ported Intake Manifold
GSC Balance Shaft Delete
AMS Oil Pan
Gates Kevlar Timing Belt

Fuel System:
Home Made Double Pumper with 2 Modified 255's
FIC 2150's

Drivetrain:
Hayes Racing ultimate ratio transmission
Quartmaster 8 leg race clutch
Stock ACD transfer case until I can pick up a non ACD tcase and have it built.
Solid Mounts all the way around

Turbo Kit:
Sheepey Built Forward Facing T4 Divided Turbo Kit with a PTE6766 1.15 Hotside
Innovative Motor Works - Custom Intercooler and Piping 3" in and out with wiggins clamps.

This is where I'm at so far and where it will stay at for most of this season. I will be upgrading my fuel system at some point but right now will be leaving it go to prevent myself from having the car turned up until it breaks Once the diff, driveshaft, and tcase are upgraded the plan is to switch to a T4 Super 99 and see what its got!!

This car will be mainly for the streets and for the roll racing events. It will see the strip at some bigger events like the Buschur Shoot out and East Coast Shootout.

It will be tuned by Chad @ CBRD!

Now for pictures!

Here is where I was originally, It was a stock block BB-BBK-C car on e85. It made 580whp.

Got the motor Pulled

The tear down

Some Big boy Rods!

The Bottom end back together

L19s installed and The Head torqued down

Motor almost ready to go back

But first, the engine bay needed paint! Before

After

Now for all the random pictures!

Big Boy turbo!

Sunnen SV-10 if my memory serves me right. I'm used to using an old manual Sunnen vertical hone so this was a pleasure to use and also much quicker! Lol

Thanks! The end power goal talked about between me and my tuner is 900+ on a MD with the 6766 and when switched to the Super 99 we would like to break 1000awhp on a MD.. I'm not big on dyno numbers so whatever it makes is cool with me lol For now, I'll be happy with 700ish and having my car back!

Those $1100 connecting rods are indicative of a high hp build. Good luck with the build. Car looks clean.

That is a pretty clean right there! Never seen it ran that way. Guess you can't park that bad boy outside, eh?

Haha! Thanks! I originally wanted to go with Turbo Tuff rods but I don't like how heavy they are.

Yea, Sheepey did a great job, im very happy with the result! Alex and I talked quite a bit about everything and he always kept me updated. They seriously gave me some of the best customer service I have ever experienced in the evo world! I was a little concerned on how the exhaust would be routed and if it would get in the way of anything but they made it fit very nicely and I have absolutely 0 complaints. With my previous hood dump I always kept a box of sandwhich baggies in my car for days it would rain. I doubt ill drive it on ugly days but ill keep a box of the big gallon bags in my car to keep them covered up if I run into that situation.
