Hi all,
Thought I'd post this to show you what me and my mates have been up to recently:

Company owner: Mathew Chambers (Jonny's Dad)

Thanks

Kenny

Wow, I'm impressed!

I wonder what the weight savings would be with a sleeved aluminum block vs a 4g63 iron block. Any worry about stripping head studs?

Great job guys!

He has increased the size of the head studs. So far so good.

The iron block weighs 50kgs, but Jonny has also made the rocker cover, various pullies, crank ladder and sump all in ali. We reckon he's saved over 20kgs. The time, effort and cost to do this is crazy but very satisfying for him and great for his career. He ought to be working in F1.

Amazing, if I was able to do this, I'd increase the bore size to 2.3 and start a production line for Evo owners.

To maintain bore spacing, biggest you can go is 4g64 bore, Which is about an 85cc increase in displacement. And you still end up with questionable head gasket reliability..

so could you design a new 2.3 motor with the same block by increasing the length of the stroke of the block without stroking the motor, if you know what i mean

lolwut?

If you make the block longer, you change the bore spacing, which would then require a custom head, crank, and cams, and oh a whole custom engine design...lol.
