Apologies for slacking on the updates from my last post. Let's just say A LOT of progress was made over the Holiday Break.
So it's safe to say I'm starting 2022 off with a bang!
First let me start by posting some long awaited parts.
JDC Full Bumper Quick Release Kit
Some turbo inlet tubing.
Some Iridiums for the for tuning session.
Samco Rad Hose Kit.
Some Misc. Items.
The Good stuff! Some Brake Fluid and New Speed Bleeders.
Just wanted to share the developing news as to what is coming down the pipeline for 2022. I have a few items coming in from the US that might either all show up at once, or show up at different times (praying for this lol).
Engine Stand
So right before the holiday break I reached out to Vein Stands https://veinstands.com/. I was having an ongoing discussion with my buddy who's going to house the car for the time that we are putting the motor together. Granted people have experience doing things the "hard way" myself included, I think it was time I broke out of that trend. With that said, I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on buying a engine stand. My exact thoughts were, that if I spent this kind of money already to have this kind of quality, I'm not going to cheap out and do something half-assed now. engine installs can be easy, but they can also be a HUGE PITA at times, and I didn't want to risk scratching up the engine bay shuffling the motor around. If you have any questions, just look them up on Instagram, Kris is pretty chill and easy to talk to.
I'm not paid to promote any of this, but if it provides them with more business from the community my job is done. Check out the link below along with the details from the website.
This stand has been specifically designed to accommodate the Evo 4G63 Engines. Another key purpose of the stand is that you can mount your flywheel, clutch, and transmission while mounted on the stand. This gives you a completely mobile swap to maneuver around. You can also complete simple tasks such as accessory swaps or installations, cleaning, even assembling your top end if necessary while mounted on the stand. Storing and transporting, even shipping with our engine stands also works great.
Engine Assembly
As mentioned above, plans are to take the car to my buddy's house once it's complete, but if the engine stand shows up first which I'm hoping for, the motor will go before the car. Though the block was built by the late Curt Brown, we'll be assembling it.
Coilovers
Mmmmm...Coilovers!
The Tein Type Flex coilovers that came with the car have seen better days, two of which are blown. So with that said, I purchase some NEW BC coilovers through Import Image Racing https://www.importimageracing.com/.
BC Racing's digressive piston design offers increased dampening force at low piston velocities while maintaining a linear damper feel at higher piston velocities. One of the greatest advantages of increased low-speed dampening force relates to what the driver feels, example; roll, pitch, dive, and quick weight transitions on technical road courses.
BC Racing DS Series Coilover Kit Features:
Mono-tube shock design
Digressive piston and damping curve
Satin chrome finished body
30-clicks of damping adjustment (compression/rebound) simultaneously
Front camber plates standard on applicable kits
Rear camber plates available on applicable kits
Custom spring rates and swift springs available for most applications
Custom valving and/or valving paired for custom spring rates
1 year limited warranty against manufacturer defect
Fully rebuildable with all parts available for purchase
I decided to go with the Swift Spring Upgrade and got me some custom spring rates while I was at it.
Wheels and Tires
Though I won't show any pictures of what I plan to get as yet, I'll share specs of the wheels that I plan to get; which are 18x9.5 +22. As for the Tires, they will be the Firehawk Indy 500, which is Firestone's Ultra High Performance Summer tire. Going with some 255/35/18's.
Car Assembly
I still have some other misc. things to order for the car for the engine bay, which I plan on ordering when my wallet gets fat again. Once those are ordered, that should be all that's needed regarding OEM parts. After those arrive, I'll be able to finally put the rest for the car back together. If you think of a exterior replacement part, I probably have it, bolts? I have it lol. I also keep forgetting that I had some additional part come in from Japan that took about 10 or 11 months to land on island due to "you know". But, yes...I have a spare seat that I need to convert to a drivers seat in order to have a fully functional interior. I also got a few more interior part and a second hand Evo 9 power steering pump that is basically mint, so I'll just dig through my phone and post those pics later.
So yea! I still have lots to do, and thankfully I have some help along the way in some of the important areas; so stay tuned.

Those engine stands are cool, they are local to me too...very tempting!
If you have a lift, or have access to one, I'd definitely get one. I've had my fair share of tilting motors with tow straps or manhandling them. Plus, I'm not getting any younger lol.
As I was previously mentioning. I got some New to me JDM parts last year.
The two big boxes are a Factory tinted rear glass and a new windshield.
What's could this be?
New to me armrest console.
New to me shifter console.
IACV
Mint Evo 9 Power Steering Pump
Like I said...MINT!
Full Evo 9 Steering Rack.
Oh yea!
Mint Evo 7 passenger seat.
What the passenger seat will be replacing.
So yea, That drivers seat has seen MUCH better days. The plan is to take apart the bottom half of the passenger seat to see if I can convert it over to the driver side. I've pulled down a few of the older Recaros to the bare skeleton, so this will be a challenge; but I'm sure I'll get it done.
Awesome thread, glad to see your making some progress. Hopefully, we can go on a cruise sometime this year.
One thing I got that I love on my Evo is some lowering seat brackets. If you like the lower seat positioning, I'd definitely add it to your parts list!

Cowl looks like it was never a day over 21 year old lol
Next up is to order tires and start on the assembly of the motor. Hoping to have a running car by July 2022, but not setting my expectations too high.
Tires will be Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's 255/35/R18.
Stay tuned friends, it's slowly coming along. and thank you all for the support and encouragement given thus far. It's been one hell of a long road.
