Evo X 4g63T fit

I just bought an Evo X shell and I'm going to put a 4G63T engine in it with evo 8/9 Transmission, but before I buy everything I want to know if it will even fit. Yes I understand 4b11t is the future, I've read a ton of forums and they all turn into, Why this why that. All i want to know is if it will fit.

Lol no reason it wont fit. But its not something thats just gunna drop right in. Not to be negative but what are you even trying to accomplish here aside from being "different"?

And no offence but if you're asking the question regarding if it'll fit do you really think you are up to the task at hand?

I think it would be pretty cool to see a 4g63t evo X. The issue is that you will have to fabricate nearly everything yourself and will use the majority of the evo 8/9 drivetrain, ecu, wiring harness, etc.

I am starting from scratch with this thing. There is absolutely nothing except an exhaust. All I need to know is if the engine mounting points line up I guess

With enough money and effort you could put a Chevy 454 big block into the car...and thats actually about the same amount of money and effort you would need to bring to this project to make it work. There are just fundamentally so many things that will need to be modified and changed, that doing it would make absolutely no sense, save for the novelty of doing it, but again thats about the same novelty as putting in a big block....

It reminds me of people who buy a lancer and try to turn it into an evo, after the money and effort you shoulda just bought the evo. If you wanted a 4g63t platform car you shoulda bought a CT9A..

and no the mounting points will not line up.

I would put the biggest engine you could fit horizontally so that you can keep the AWD. Custom bell housing to mate it the stock evo trans. You would have to make sure the rear of the block would clear the transfer case as it's a tight fit already with oem parts. But hey, anything is possible with enough time and money.

I like the idea as well. Have never been a fan nor will I ever own an 4B11 powered EVO

A good fabricator should be able to visualize this w/out too much issue

I may have looked at the 4B11 too simplistically w/its alum "semi open deck" block & the turbo mounted on its **** end, but after reading this article, I have changed my mind a bit

I didnt know it had a 4 bolt main & a timing chain vs the 4G63's 2 bolt main, (the 63 still has its iron crank girdle to keep it in place

Still will never own an X but good to see the 4B11 has some solid tech behind it to handle high HP
