SST.

Yeah. I read through it and saw that.

I'm going to add another on the front. As mentioned, the AMS, and Dodson sump didn't seem to help in my case. I need to log my slip though, seems a bit much for the ambient temps. I'll test it again with my with another air/oil on the front.

So here is your warning... If the trans overheats, which you were DAMN close to that. It can cause a magnet to unglue on the fork and you lose 2,4,6 or 1,3,5... The only reason my trans has lasted this long is because I never let it overheat; not ONCE.

I wouldn't let it get that hot again. I see at MOST 180F, which is like 90F before the warning slow down for SST overheat.

I've heard that.

Yeah, I backed out of the session. This transmission is built with billet forks(allegedly per the previous owner).

180F peak... wow. I think that everyone I've talked with that tracks their MR's says they are doing good with 230F max temps. That's damn impressive. I hit 180F just cruising down the road heading home from the track. I'm curious to look into this trans gauge and see how accurate it is. It's an AEM and I honestly haven't looked into to where it's plumbed into etc.

So my SST fluid always goes through the mocal liquid / liquid heat exchanger which is driving the SST to 180F (rad fluid temp). When it goes OVER 180F (which is does for a hot min) then the GREDDY thermostat / filter housing sends fluid to the two air to liquid heat exchangers as well. In this way, when it is cold (I'm in upstate NY) the two air units are essentially offline and the mocal is actually helping heat up the trans to the 180F mark. At my power level, apparently those three units together on the track are more than enough to dump whatever heat is produced. I am running +7% clamp pressure via the SST reflash, and tuned all the SST tables. At WOT in 4th I am suspecting slipping and will be checking on that soon. Clutch packs are probably end of life. Will try a re-teach to see if I can get it to grab again. 400-450hp to the wheels is definitely on the edge. On the track I turn the power down by at least -75hp.

Thanks for the info man.

I've currently got the Dodson sump and AMS cooler. My plan is a front mount on a pump, similar to your initial setup. But I'll put the pump on a thermo switch to only turn on at 180. Hopefully prolong pump life.

Hopefully that'll take care of my issues. I took the fan off my AMS cooler, but didn't help any. I'll run 2 fans and the pump off the themo switch.

I cannot believe that I brought my CLAUDE up to speed on SST and Evo X tuning. Took a log pull while logging SST params. And this is what it had to say:

https://claude.ai/share/50ca9a33-092...3-b00e6e417f9f

So I updated my logging params and will do another pull and shift from 4 to 5... INSANE how far AI has come in like 6 months.

Yea its interesting to see AI check out datalogs and recommend things to do. There are applications where you can choose the sources of information that AI will use and get cleaner results from that too.

I feed it the entire Merlin guide and the SST tuning guide (like 300 page PDF). It took several days for it to absorb it because I wanted it to rasterize and read the images. Even though I am paying for Claude I was using OPUS 4.7 and it kept hitting my daily limit just working on this!
I was pretty happy with the results.

So the SENSOR isn't cheap. Need to order that. But I am NOT paying for the gauge!
