Evo 8 with 4g64 block , need alternator help

Evo 8 with 4g64 block , need alternator help

My alternator bracket seems off by 1/2 in.

ive found people saying it bolts up fine and other say it need to be trimmed.. no idea what they are talking about. I might try added a spacer?

please anyone help and any pics would be great.

also not sure why timing cover looks so far off :/

Yeah. You cut the bolt holes off the lower cover so you can still put the bolts through the upper cover, then you just don't use that bolt hole on the bracket. It isn't going anywhere.

So if I understand, you say cut this part off basically? Then that bracket will bolt up to the other bracket mounted to intake manifold — thank you!!

No, you don't cut the alternator bracket. Just bolt it the alternator and leave it.

The cutting I was referring to is the timing cover
