Or shopping! hahaha

Forgot to mention it took me 3 freaking hours to drive 40 some miles back to the dealership! The first half was storming REALLY bad, hardly any visibility, and then the rest of the way was traffic due to accidents and trees on the road from the damn storm. I asked to be compensated for gas and tolls and my salesmen actually tried to penny pick everything which infuriated me even more. He offered to fill my tank back up and that's it which wouldn't be too bad if I didn't already fill it up last night. He walks back and forth to who knows what and offered me $15 out of pocket and gas since it was his fault that all this even happened. I told him $15 is how much 1 way toll into Staten Island costs, why is this so difficult? Just deduct my expenses from the purchase price since they have to redo the paperwork anyways. He says they can't do that, and offers $20 bucks and fill up. I then repeat myself that, that doesn't even cover the return trip on gas and tolls. I drove 3 damn hours through a storm because of your screw up.

I ended up talking to the sales manager and he said that it's the salesman's fault and it should come out of his pocket if he mans up. He then said he's going to put in a check request and have $50 mailed to me. If the request doesn't go through, then he will just take it out of the salesman's pay and I agreed.

Turns out, I didn't even have to freaking sign anything! All I did was give them back the temporary registration, plate, redo my insurance and binder. All this could have been done through email and fax. I could have taken a picture of the damn VIN on my vehicle.

Time to go write some bad reviews on them and BBB too.

I think that's the classic definition of a Weak car salesman if I ever saw one.

Did he even look you in the eye and apologize for the screw up he made?

Don't hold your breath. I think that sales person may bail before they extract your money from his pay.

Ssss... By sending you "a check", it means the dealership will have to withhold for taxes... the check may be less than what they promised.

So, the salesman couldn't even get this portion of his job correctly? To relay some basic and simple document exchange with his customer that he screwed up on prepping the WRONG vehicle?

Wes,
Actually, I bet their Sales Manager got an azz chewing from the GM > thinking they had lost a vehicle off their lot when they did an vehicle count and couldn't find the vehicle with your VIN because you had it.

Here's a review I wrote up for them

One of the worst car buying experiences I have ever had. Their internet/phone sales person who goes by the name of "Greg" first lured me 40+ miles to their dealership with promises of thousands under invoice made possible by a "Father's Day Weekend Sale" It wasn't until I arrived at Route 46 Mitsubishi and talked to a salesman Duane that they have never ever seen of this guy named "Greg" and have only heard of him. They also denied any Father's Day Weekend sale, but I let them run the numbers anyways to see where we can get to. They undervalued my trade in, and tried their best to penny pinch as much as they can out of me until the sales manager came out himself.

I wanted to finance since I knew I had excellent credit in the 750's and they further insulted my intelligence by offering me finance rates more suited for people with poor credit. I left Route 46 Mitsubishi as they were only my first stop shopping for my particular vehicle. I came back a few days later, because I couldn't find any other dealership that had the vehicle I wanted in the color I wanted, and they had multiples of that vehicle. I told them I was ready to make a deal and they raised the finance rate than previously offered. Their excuse was that it was an 'end of the day' rate they gave me to try to close a deal. I was about to leave again until they offered the original rate from the first visit which was still a bit high for someone with excellent credit, but I was tired of haggling and driving back and forth.

As I was finalizing paperwork with the finance manager, he noticed that they never put in for a $500 Military Discount and put it in himself. The salesman Duane and sales manager knew very well that I was in the military too. The salesman Duane also wasn't very knowledgeable when I asked if I can transfer my registration to the new vehicle since I have Veteran Plates. He informed me that it wouldn't be possible since I'm transferring it from a coupe to a SUV which I didn't believe, because I have transferred vehicle registrations from different class vehicles in the past. The sales manager reinforced my statement stating he was positive that they could. When I finally get my new registration, it turns out to be only temporary a long with temporary tags. They do not have their own DMV department, which is a small set back on top of many, but I can wait a few weeks for it to come in the mail.

I inspect my vehicle, everything seems fine until the drive home felt extremely harsh. I check the tire pressure and it's damn near MAX PSI. Their preppers never deflated my tire pressure to recommended PSI which was very dangerous for me and could have ended badly driving on over inflated tires, but I never brought that up to them and just deflated to proper pressure myself.

***Two weeks go by of adding hundreds of dollars of accessories and modifications to the vehicle, and I get a phone call from my salesman Duane asking me to RETURN THE VEHICLE, BECAUSE THEY SOLD ME THE WRONG ONE!***

My salesman Duane somehow entered the wrong vehicle VIN in all my paperwork, which means the vehicle I own is technically still in their lot and the vehicle I have is suppose to be in their lot! He asks me to come in so we can swap identical vehicles and I tell him that would be impossible since I have already spent too much money on mine. He then says that's fine and to just come in to resign new paperwork for ownership of the vehicle I have in my possession. I agree assuming they would compensate me for my expenses of traveling 80+ miles back and forth.

I begin my drive back to Route 46 Mitsubishi first thing in the morning, but get hit with a very heavy thunderstorm that took down trees and caused accidents. This made my normal 1.5 hour drive into 3 hours of crawling traffic. I call my salesman Duane to give him a heads up that I'm still in traffic and will be very late. He tells me that is fine and they have all the paperwork ready.

I finally arrive at Route 46 Mitsubishi completely irate about the 3 hours I had to spend in traffic because of this salesman Duane's incompetence, but I do not ask to be compensated for it. I only ask for what I spent on gas and tolls. He offers to fill my tank up, but I already topped it off last night. I explain to him that I still need to drive back home and pay tolls again as if it's really that hard to comprehend. I'm not asking for anything for my troubles, only what I spent on gas and tolls, which he completely acknowledges and agrees with. He then offers me $15 out of his own pocket... I explain to him again that $15 is only enough for ONE toll into Staten Island, and I am making a ROUND TRIP because of his screw up. He gives me a song and dance about how he screwed up, how he's admitting to his wrong, how he's manning up to it and then offers me $20...

At that point I was speechless. I didn't know how to get it through his incompetent head of his that all I wanted is to be FULLY compensated for my GAS & TOLLS, and THAT'S IT, nothing less, nothing more! I went outside for a smoke, saw the sales manager and explained to him my situation. He completely agreed with me and felt that this was all the salesman Duane's fault, that the salesman Duane should man up and pay out of pocket for this. The sales manager comes back to me after a few minutes and offers to send a check request for $50 to be mailed to my address. If the request doesn't go through, then he will deduct it out of the sales manager's pay and this whole process should take approximately 1 week. I was skeptical at first, that they couldn't just deduct $50 from my final purchase price as that would have been MUCH EASIER, but I was tired of arguing and shook hands.

After that I sit and wait for another 30 minutes for paperwork that was supposedly ready and waiting for me to sign. Then out of nowhere, my salesman Duane comes out with new temporary registration and plates for me. I ask him if I need to sign anything and he says no... WHAT THE HELL WAS THE POINT OF ME PHYSICALLY SHOWING UP IN PERSON THEN?! Everything could have been taken care of through EMAIL & FAX! ! ! I didn't even think of that at the time, because I was just glad this nightmare was over and just wanted to leave that disaster of a dealership. As I was driving home, I remembered that I never received receipts and copies of the new documentation with the correct VIN!

It seems like Route 46 Mitsubishi is just a never ending nightmare. I chose that dealership, mainly because of their vast inventory and decent reviews, but it appears that all the negative reviews they have are the truth, and all the positives are fake. I have purchased 4 vehicles in the past and not one of them has been as bad an experience as this one.

I'm not the type of person to hold grudges and seek vengeance, but they have wronged me bad enough for me to write this extensive review on them which I take no pleasure in doing.

Learn from my experience. If something doesn't seem right, walk away, don't give them another chance hoping it would get better. Route 46 Mitsubishi is like a bad relationship that you're stuck in.

Definitely a nightmare experience. Are they solely a Mitsu dealer or are they a domestic dealer as well?

The actual dealership is just Mitsubishi, but there are other dealerships that go by Route 46

Well, that's speaking your mind!

I'm kind of stunned to hear you didn't sign any new documents. Did they forge your signature on the new BoS?

Guess now you'll have to wait for them to fax you the updated Bill of Sale? Which should only be a day... Don't let them drag it out another 2 weeks. Once you get it, better review through it with a fine tooth comb. THAT is a Legal document (Binding Contract). So be sure everything is accurate! Just a heads up.

So, is this review/draft already posted on facebook?

I think I will be using these hooks instead of getting the whole MOLLE system. After a bit of googling, they are WAY out of my budget in the organizing stuff department. Although I did receive my DDM HIDs today and we will see how HIDs will look in these Halogen projectors!

Okay, just to clarify, on 2013 AWD ES, the HI BEAMS ARE NOT D2R! THEY ARE 9005!

What a waste of freaking money! Now I have to order 9005 replacement bulbs which isn't too bad since they're $15, but now I have an extra pair of D2R! I don't understand how the hell did some of you previous year Outlander Sports used D2R bulbs, because the base plate where the bulb screws into the headlight housing is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!

Oh and my low beams are HB11 EXACTLY.

2013 Outlander Sport ES
Low Beams: HB11
High Beams: 9005

I also shoved everything into the headlight housing

Took a few pics and vids after my run demonstrating aftermarket HIDs in stock halogen projector housing and how my tints look like in person.

I'll try to get some night shots against a wall one day, but the cut off looks pretty good to me.

The dog hammock worked great if you put a large dog bed on top of it. I would recommend getting a larger size hammock for our Outlander Sport since the one I bought 51 inches is kind of short.
