They'll fit as well as any other 255/40. Maybe a bit better as they seem to run a touch narrower than some, especially rs3's and Dunlop Z2's per tire rack's measurements.
sorry if this has already been answered - do the re71r 255/40-17s fit well on the stock 17x8s?
Yes, I had them installed on my B Street 17x8 wheels. They are pinched so I don't think there was much to gain. I would use at least 17x9 wheels for 255/40/17 RE71Rs.
I think we should start sending even more letters now after those results showed up!!
When you look at the short times between Mikko and Brian, it is clear that EVO was having an average 0.3 sec advantage per side. They still ended up pretty even at the end, which clearly shows that Zs have great advantage over EVOs. Finally, PRO is not suppose to use for Solo2 classing decisions, so with the latest data all translated to the regular Nationals type setup, Brian would win with over a second advantage over Mikko!
Now, I don't know either one of them and how good they are, so I will stop there! But, if they are close in driving abilities, things are not good for EVOs. If Brian is an alien type and Mikko just a regular fast guy, than things might be OK. Again, don't know either one, so I will stop speculation....
Bryan H is a pro driver for Nissan with quite a few national championships, often classified as an alien, which makes Doug's win that much more exciting.
Thanks everyone, that was a good weekend of racing.
Here's the in-car videos. The courses were "ok" ... most cars ran out of gearing in really awkward places, including ours, and Heitkotters for certain, and the offsets heading out were kind of painful. But overall, pretty good. We're definitely struggling with pulling out of the slow corners now (taller tires) and launching. We made adjustments for Sunday and I also decided to launch harder (don't tell Tasha).. resulting in some clutch-slippage\stinkage, but I think it was worth it ;-) (and we made it the 800+ miles home ok).
It's not often you get to line up alongside one of the best of the bests, stoked to have finished well. EVO FTW!
Congrats on the win Doug! It's no small feat beating Mr. GT Academy, but it is concerning that even with the Prosolo launch advantage for the Evo the times were so close at the end. As others have said, either the Evo needs more tire or they should reduce the tire size for the RWD cars.
well done! that car looks like it makes a lot of power.. I get complaints about how "fast" my 300hp evo is for STU lol (locally, just launch harder than most others)
