All this lug nut and stud talk has me worried about mine now.

I have a set of SSR GT2s in 18x8.5 35et
Previous owner had 255s on them, they looked pretty good but I'm thinking I'd like to step up to a 17x9 and a 265 wide tire.

A 265 is going to be too over square on an 8.5" wheel wouldn't you think?

18x9.5 +35 with a 265/35r18 is a sexy fitment on the CT9A. I know from experience.

I really want some RPF1s in that size, but those SSRs are some what rare and stupid expensive so I was kind of wanting to hang on to them...
I know there are companies that will widen wheels but I don't think I like that idea.

If I remember correctly a 265 for a 17" wheel is hard to find. You would probably have to go with a 275/40 in a 17.

Yea, 265's on 17's have almost no tire options. It's why I went to 18's for my street wheels/tires.

Currently running a real sweet set of 265/40/17's (Federal 595 EVO). Super wide. Its got a overall width dimension as wide some 275's

I keep hearing about the federal's, but I'm super resistant to trying them for some reason. They just seem like an off-brand for some reason.

$125 each for 265/35r18's just seems cheap...lol

So far Sean, impressed. Good looking tread & side wall. Side wall stiffness is close to my old Nitto NT05's

Their just my street tires which I do not put a lot of miles on

Federals have a pretty good track history w/the 595RS

I'm thinking you got fake ones I haven't seen a broken arp wheel stud. I got a couple of lugnuts rounded and couldn't remove a wheel one time. I bought all the tools and even went to tire places for them to try but no one had better tools than what I already got. 1 nut left and none of the tools worked. I tried and even hurt myself drilling out the arp stud but I finally decided to drill the wheel. f it. ARP stud won

That's good to know. I've never driven the NT05, but I know they were good tires at the time they came out (quite dated now a days). I may consider the 595rsr for my next set of street tires then. They're definitely cheap enough...LOL

On another note, I got the ARP studs all installed and the car is at the body shop, new fender and side skirt, and a new JDP front lip, repainting from the firewall forward and clear bra on the front end.

I just wanted to note at how damn smooth the ARP studs torqued at 110flbs. It was like everything was just gliding along until the torque wrench clicked. I've never had wheel studs torque that nice.

Haha, there have been several autocrossers over the years that have had ARPs break. Just the weekend before mine, the same thing happened to Eric Hyman's SM GTR.

Yeah he upgraded to the 14mm Porsche hardware. I considered doing it, but the amount of trouble would be a little ridiculous. I'd rather just replace them periodically.

Jumping in here for my 2cents on fitment:

Wheels: RPF1 18x9.5 +38mm
Tires: Pirelli Racing Slick 265/645-18

Spacers: >=23mm REQUIRED up front to clear calipers. I purchased 20mm spacers as stated many times in this thread. It is NOT adequate clearance. I measured just shy of 1mm at the tightest point w/ 20mm. Brembos should have >=3mm.

Rear: Looks like I'll need to roll to be safe. Rear inner lip is deep and parallel to ground, could destroy tires IMO.

Front:
Rubs the rear fender liner/side skirt.

Front rub fixes:
Based on this thread (and others) the common solution here is to increase caster. I already have K-Mac camber/caster plates, not sure how much additional caster I can achieve and if it will be enough to stop rubbing. Below is the current (rubbing) setting. The more common fix I've seen is people using a lower control arm piece to move the wheel forward from the bottom. The Perrin PSRS added up to 1.5degree of caster allowing a very sizable move forward. That product is discontinued. The only comparable product I see is the Whiteline Anti-Lift kit, which provides only 0.5degree of additional caster. Would that be enough? Is there a better PSRS replacement out there?

K-Mac Camber/Caster plate (rubbing)

Is your EvO strickly track only? One website shows that tire diameter at 650mm which is pretty large but not as bad as I would have thought

If you moved to a traditional 265/35 that would help

Maybe you already know that. just adding my .02 as noted
