I resently purchased an 08 GSR with a Sakura intake and Synapse BOV. Well I'm running "lean" and I Just want to see if this thing is installed correctly.

Also what is that tube going to that leads to a thing with wires?

 

To me it looks reversed. Ive never dealt with one tho.

You can remove it and look at the actual valve inside. That should tell you what way it goes.

The sidewith the plunger should be on the boost side. And the side with the top of plunger should face intake pipe.

 

Is the car tuned for the intake? If not, the MAF scaling is off and that is why you are running lean.

The BOV the wrong way or not wouldn't make the car run lean or rich.

Unfortunately I have no idea if it was tuned previously. The guy I bought it from said it had but needed retuned, idk wether he was just telling me that because it had never been tuned or because it actually needs retuned.

 

yeah I googled it after posting the thread. I guess that explains the gauge on the steering column.

 

Absolutely need to tune it for a larger MAF intake.

 

Ok I just have to find a decent etuner. I plan on eventually getting a pro tune but I need to fix the issues first so I can get it through emissions.

 

Check Synapse for cracks.

 

The synapse DV can be installed in either direction.
As razorlab said, the car very likely needs a tune.
