For those that have removed the tar sound deadening under the carpet how much dry ice did you need to purchase? Im hoping to strip the rest of the interior soon and have no idea how many pounds of the ice I should need...thanks in advance!

I did mine with 12# of dry ice pellets. I nearly ran out and had to rush at the end, so I would recommend getting 15#.

Thank you for the insight. You mentioned pellets...I assumed they just came in blocks and I'd have to shave it or something. Guessing I can just wear some insulated gloves and hold it on there until I hear the cracking? Seems like the horizontal areas will be easy but Ive got some crap in my truck in vertical sections that might be a lil more tricky to unstick...

You can buy dry ice in blocks or pellets. The pellets are easy to spread out on the floor to get good coverage. Then you just wait to hear the cracking, tap with a mallet a few times, and start peeling up the sections. I wore heavy gloves and just held the pellets up against the vertical sections for a minute or two.

Awesome thanks for the info, glad I asked pellets it is According to the official weight sticky it seems there is about 10# of sound deadening under the carpet to be removed. Perhaps my car being an SSL has even more. I sure hope that is the case

I bought too much but it came in slabs. Broke them apart and mixed in a bottle of rubbing alcohol. Creates almost a paste. Worked really well. Then goo gone on any residual.

I was really surprised at how completely it came off. That stuff is nasty and I expected a MESS to clean, afterward.
