Is there a way to remove the front emblem on a Evo IX without removing the front bumper?

Not without breaking something, Just take the front bumper cover off. It takes about 5 minutes...

There will be a hole in the grill piece if you remove the emblem. Not a good look.

Any suggestions on where to get a new grill piece without a hole for a replacement?

Yes.

1. Grab a stubby phillips or similar length screwdriver.
2. Remove top plastic clips.
3. Gently pull up on top of grill and slide your other hand in between. Hold the screwdriver by your finger tips.
4. Remove 1 each screw, slightly pull up on emblem and remove. Might be a pain in the **** to retrieve the screw so don't drop it.
5. There isn't a hole in the grill but there is a plate there. You'll know what I'm talking about after you remove the emblem.
6. Replace top plastic clips.

Im sorry EvoSid but there is holes 3 holes behind the emblem. I just found this out the hard way.
The plate will come out with the grill if you replace the grill.
Does anyone make a replacement grill that would match the factory grill for this application?

I have a GG Evo and I have a little bottle of GG touchup paint, I'm thinking about using that on the emblem... anyone try this? I'm scared it's gonna come out ugly. haha.

well, I have done another search and I can nopt find any answers to the questions of "where do you get a replacement grille without holes" since it seems from a couple comments that there are 3 holes in the grille once the emblem is removed on the evo 9. I have seem cars out there without the emblem. So, does anybody sells a replacement grille without holes, or do you just have to make one?
