Thread disappeared
Just because some idiot member complains about a thread is not a reason to delete it. A lot of members were having fun with the RX8 thread. So one censorship mongering prude complains about it, and the rest of us lose out. That's BS.
And it wasn't off topic, it was comparing the EVO to the RX8. That's "On Topic."

I apologize for my incomplete explanation. Because of the size of this site, the mods cannot read every post. Ninety nine percent of the posts that come to moderator's attention are via the reported post function. We do not moderate every reported post and try our best to apply the site rules to the specific situation. Many times we do nothing. (which also gets us cards and letters from the disgruntled reporter
)This site has a very narrow focus. (w/e of the off topic forum) and is closely moderated to maintain that focus. Otherwise the value is diluted with OT, flaming and junk mail posts. There are thousands of sites open to all discussions and (IMHO) their value is inversely proportional to the bandwidth of the BS.
What is Evom's value? Consider a guy last month at 2:00am asking for torque values on his exhaust manifold. He bumped the post 15 min later and got a detailed procedure for torque and sequence. Try that on a “open” forum. The mods make decisions every day that you may or may not agree with, however, the goal is to keep our site on topic and uncluttered. Sometimes we get right and sometimes we don’t.
I will find out why the thread was removed. Thanks.
Speedlimit...
Cool cheers Speedlimit, I was just wondering where the thread dissapeared off to as I also thought it was on topic, and I had no message or anything about where it went to. In other forums I go to we normally get told if our threads are going to be removed or moderators leave a warning message in teh thread if inappropriate things are going on in it.
Thanks again for taking al ook for me

Generally speaking, anything relating to the Evo vs another car will turn into a flame fest and get locked/trashed. The particular thread about the RX-8/Evo looks comparison is OT material because it really has very little to do with the cars.
