well how come the evo ix owners can't put some of the engine mods that evo 8's have?
yes this is a evo and lancer forum, but there are 2 sections for lancers, there is a ES,Oz-rally section and a lancer ralliart section, so why should the 2 different evo's have different sections?

You kinda contradict yourself.

ES/OZ have 4G94 engines.
Ralliart has the 4G69 with MIVEC. WHOLE different ball of wax.

yup, my roommate is a evom guru with a OZ. However, my opinion stands. It's the same car with mivec intake cam. I don't really see the need to differentiate. That's all.

EXACTLY, even if one owns both. The VIII and the IX. The IX is still a different car period

And most against the idea of a Evo. IX forum will probably not even buy a Evo. IX anyway for whatever reason.

I myself will purchase one soon and plan on modding. And would like a common place to go to obtain and compare performance info.

This wouldn't be easy comparing with a Evo. VIII due to with the same mods. on both the VIII and the IX. The IX will make more power and have different results period

This is not true. Two of the people who have posted against have either had both or even presently have both.

The reason the people with VIIIs are against isn't because of envy. It is because they have been around the forum for a bit and know the cars well enough to know how similar they are.

Perhaps what we need is a sticky thread that explains the differences for new IX owners.

Prevents Evo. IX owners posting on a tread with results and info. mainly for Evo VIII owners asking what about for the Evo. IX? Which I have done before and got back no response.

An Evo. IX forum would be great and will fill up quick due to people are looking for info. that are wanting and waiting to buy an Evo. IX or have one already.

Same here.....

Yeah, the fact that the whole damn engine block is completely different is pretty unsubstatial, huh?

News flash - 4G94 and 4G69 are in entirely different engine families (the 6 and the 9 represent that). The Ralliart motor has more in common with the Evo motor (4G63).

Know something before you talk. Please?

To me, as a non-Evo owner, it'd make more sense to just have two seperate Engine Tech sections for the two Evos, but keep them under the same forum section. Evo VIII engine and Evo IX engine. Other stuff, such as the general section, S&S, and whatnot, don't need to be seperated out.
