i say just seperate the whole car...it would just confuse things even more to start seperate just the engines. EVO 8 forum and EVO 9 forum...just do it, because the people want it.

News flash - 4G94 and 4G69 are in entirely different engine families (the 6 and the 9 represent that). The Ralliart motor has more in common with the Evo motor (4G63).

Know something before you talk. Please?
yup, you're correct that the 94 and the 69 are different engines. I've worked on the 94 and even helped my buddy change his RRE alum pully 2 days ago. I think you might of misunderstood my knowledge between the ES/LS/OZ and the ralliart. No kidding they're different. Look at the head, MAS, heck even valve cover.

Have you looked at a 03-05 engine vs. a 9 engine? I've owned both. It's the same engine code. However there are only minor differences, the mivec is only variable on the intake side with a different ECU that changes more maps. There are more subtle things internally but I don't think it really matters much. I believe a VIII with a head swap with a IX + ecu will work.

i don't know what you're smoking saying that the entire IX engine is entirely different from the VIII. Either crack open a evo block or I recommend you taking your own advice.

Ummmm, I'm pretty sure this is an international web site (WWW=World Wide Web), and we do NOT have EVO I-VIII seperate forums. I always see foreign owner post questions bout their IV, VII, etc. in EVO general and we never needed a seperate forum. The EVO IX is a little different but not enough to get its own forum, maybe a sub forum if anything.

I never said a word about Evo motors. I was only touching on the Lancer motors. I apologize if you misunderstood that.

the evo 9 is basically the same as the evo 8.

to the guy posting about the other evo's that america never got...would it be safe to say that 90% of the posting is done by people from countries that only have the evo 8 and 9? i think it's also safe to say that you can't compare posting about the other evo generations to the amount of posts that the 9 is generating, and will generate. again, the only people saying we shouldn't have a 9 forum are 8 owners. i say give the people what we want. start a 9 sub forum. yes, when the 10 comes out, start a 10 forum. the 10 will be a totally different car, so it will indeed warrant another forum. why are you people afraid of seperation? what, will it be TOO easy to find what you're looking for? yeah, can't have too much organization, who in the world would want to make things easier to find? oh wait...that's right, WE WOULD. is that something you DONT want? lol i thought everybody liked readily available information. it would cut down search time drastically. i know i'm always looking for new posts about the 9, but alot of posts don't have 9 in the title. it would be alot easier to just go to the 9 forum to read about the 9. and i dont give a sh-t what anybody in here says, that search is just about useless. you guys b-tch and b-tch about people not searching, and then about you having to move your fingers and type a response (which is the dumbest thing i've ever seen...instead of taking the time to type a b-tch, just don't post at all unless you're gonna answer it. nobody's forcing you to type anything, let alone unhelpful b-tching about how much u don't want to answer the post. if u don't want to answer it, then why are you?) it wont do anything BUT help. so add another forum. there really aren't any negatives to adding another forum, but there are plenty associated with not adding one.

Well i'm a 9 owner and I think the only whiners in here are other 9 owners... lol

As far as mechanical crap, look at my previous posts (it's nearly the same damn car). I still stand by my opinion that a IX subforum has no point and will have a small post average, unless it's a "LOOK I JUST GOT A NEW IX" , "LOOK I JUST INSTALLED MY BRAND NEW CF HOOD PICS", OR "LOOK IM A GIRL AND I HAVE A NEW IX ... tee hee" bullcrap.

like i said, give me a GOOD reason NOT to have a seperate forum. it would only make things better, and easier for everybody. everybody wants it, so just do it.

IX guys need a place so they can talk seperately about superior 1 year items like black momo wheels, standard leather equipped RS's, 6hp mivec/fan spindles, new bumper plastics, & easier 1st-2nd gear ratio changes. Yhea "im a little jealous" what the IX owners love us VIII boys to say to make them feel better since the X is coming soon as you can tell..... now for the FWD Lancer's

Eliminate the Lancer stuff altogether....get them a whole new site called wastedalotofhardearnedmoneyonlancersM.net ......or.......sillylancerboyskeepvendorshappy.net
