Warrtalon does provide alot of uselful information to the community. The only thing that I disagree with is the way in which he does it. He can be very negative towards some people asking a simple question, instead of just not posting. But all in all, he does provide useful knowledge, but can be annoying at times. My 2c.

I've been watching this thread since the beginning, now I feel I need to give input.

It has nothing to do with thin skin or soft feelings as well as it being an Internet forum!!! Rude is rude!! It has nothing to do with free speech and does not apply to this forum persay, because this is a privately owned forum that allows people to log in and post after being filtered and screened. This is not a true public forum by any means or true definition because it has mods that can and will delete post's and/or ban you for what you do or say that they think is wrong. That's the problem with people anymore, their answer to everything is to just ignore it. I see so many problems with that statement it's ridiculous. Look around people to whats going on in the real world by ignoring things. I am very active socially and politically trying to help out those who have done just that and cry when things get bad from "just ignoring things" thinking it will go away. If he was rude like this in real life, I have no doubt someone would put a hurtin' on him eventually. He is knowledgeable in is own right, but he did learn by asking questions as well plus what he probably already knew (I would think by the way he talks). I've seen his threads from a while back doing deep searches and seen him asking just like any other newb. Also, just because someone is listed as a newb on the forum does not mean that they are newbs to cars or even the Evo. That crap needs to stop.

I think the main point here or complaint is, he needs to have some "TACT" when delivering his comments that's all. Just stop being so rude, even to newbs. I know from my own personal experience, because I am a nice guy most of the time myself but have no tact in my thoughts or comments in real life ( but not too many people will say anything back to me in the real world though.. ) It is a forum, so let's just get back to being more constructive and learn to get along better as fellow members. Just because it is an internet forum does not make it "OKAY" to be rude and obnoxious to anyone, it is just disrespectful and not logical by any standards of behavior as grown human beings as well as counter productive.

Regardless to any invalidation that anyone tries to throw at this thread, the votes are still legit and speak very loudly about the attitude or attitudes that needs to change. Whether Warr or anyone else will take note, is to be seen.

Have a nice day

I have to believe that the people who think Warrtalon is helpful are mostly newbies. I don't mean that derogatorily - I think you must be relatively new to Evo tuning or drag racing, otherwise I don't see how you could consider his regurgitated, basic advice so useful.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think he misleads or that his information is incorrect, and he is available and willing to help in an "I like to hear my own voice so I'll share this basic knowledge with you" sort of way. But really, at the end of the day, he contributes absolutely nothing new information-wise, and is rude to boot, which in my opinion makes his contribution a net loss for the community.

To newbies, he's kind of like a search button that gives you matching threads and the feeling that you're an idiot. It is cute that EvoM has its own Morton Downey, Jr. But he is basically as much of a "resource" here as, I don't know, a 6th grade hall monitor. If he were gone, searching and other people would take his place, and the community would be better off.

Regarding the pushing goods when he's not a paying vendor - hmm ... it's a fine line - not. He advertises his sponsors' products (does work for them) and in return gets free parts (is paid by them). Semantics aside, how is that different from being the employee/agent of (and representing) a vendor? Really I don't care except in as much as he should be held to the same behavior standards as the vendors he represents. His **** wouldn't fly if he were Warrtalon@Buschur.

For his loyal fans, let's talk about the rudeness. Ah yes, the rudeness. The problem with rudeness ... is ultimately not about the being insulted or having our "feewings hurt" or not having thick enough skin. What you people don't realize is that for every person that posts something here on EvoM, there are 100 who don't have the time or inclination to do so, but they are nonetheless reading threads and they do see that Warrtalon makes this a ****tier community to visit and learn from. Why? Because, outside of the military, most people with any self-respect don't appreciate or permit being talked down to. Some people get a kick out of the rudeness because this is th3 int3rw3b. For some of us who have been here longer, we are pretty pissed off that people like Warrtalon are changing the nature of these forums for the worse.

Warrtalon's posts do not promote education, discussion or technical debate, they promote Warrtalon at the expense of new members, precisely the group that needs to be welcomed and helped.

Or do they? Ultimately it is a philosophical question for the staff - EvoM has always felt like an open door community. The Warrtalon cult would have it be more of a clubhouse. Where do you see it going?

Bottom line, our local evo website feels way more comfortable for a noobie and evolved members alike. everyone get treated with respect and we have fun. The only reason i come on here is to check out the vendor websites and group buys.

I usually don't post much on this forum because of the general lack of respect for other members by a select group of members. I even go months at time sometimes without even posting or even viewing because of the negativity that seems to run amuck at times. I actually was a member when this site started but got rid of it. I came back last year and re-registered and sometimes I regret that decision because of the general social decay of this forum. However, I do still find useful information and sometimes it gets a bit difficult to sift through the BS to get anything useful. There is enough BS and rudeness in real life, and to come on this forum and have to deal with it in order to get info sometimes is very tiring. I once considered sponsoring this forum as a company, but no longer have that desire. It once was an enjoyable place to come chat.

Warr is about going fast without a whole lot of money. He know alot about out cars. He can be harsh but he is honest. He know what he is talking about. Granted he is sarcastic. No one can deny his knowledge

I read 13 pages before posting. I've never met Clay in person, I have spoken to him in PM's a couple times. He has been very helpful via PM's. Having said that on the forums he reminds me of a pro wrestler that plays the bad guy. He puts on a show for all to see, when in reality he's not like that. An act so to speak. Which obviously works, we have 13+ pages of this. You can slam EVO_Kid all day long but look at the number of people that agree with him.

My point being to be an effective communicator one must ensure the listener recieves the message. If your rude they will probably tune you out REGARDLESS of how fast you run or how good your message is.

PS - I didnt and wont vote because I think the poll is missing a 3rd option. WARR should tone down his delivery and EVO-Kid shouldnt take things so personally. That would get my vote.

look everyone knows that Warr can be an *** at times. i am sure that he knows that. but that is also just how some people veiw the blunt truth. i dont always agree with the way he comes across in some of the threads. but i do respect the fact that he is so blunt and tells things how they are. weather they be right or wrong its what he believes and sticks to it. i personally dont know him, so i dont like nor dislike him. but you dont have to know some to apperciate what he has done for the Evom community or the EVO community in general

Oh yea this is the internet......ignore him or leave the site its your god given right as an internet user. trust me i dont think anyone will stop you.
