One thought - those might have been unrelated. Just because you talked to spt, a Supermod might have banned you for something else. We usually try to let you know why we've done something, but it doesn't always happen that way...

Saying AMS wasn't warned or banned sounds like you're kinda talking about something you don't know about. Do you work at AMS? Do you read their PMs? If we didn't ban them, that's that. But don't say that the mod staff just ignored it, because we didn't.

I was banned because of the PM I sent to SPT. Thats exactly what the mod told the other vegas members after I was banned. I told SPT how I felt then got banned. That mod then told everyone on the vegas forum that I was banned for my pm to SPT. Simple.

You say I dont know what I'm talking about, yet those vids stayed up forever it seemed like. Vegasboy got the instant ban for his. Their was no street racing involved. AMS was straight up street racing. From the members point of view, it looks like favoritism.

Blonde,

Here is a classic example. Mods have been really on point about enforcing the verbal attacks, name calling etc on here lately. Here we have a thread with an over abundance of it, and not only does the mod not correct the behavior he actually participates to a certain extent, then closes the thread. In a case like this even though I may agree that the thread starter didnt use good judgement etc, how can you "selectivley enforce" verbal attacks and name calling???

To be honest, I don't ban anyone unless a mod has asked me to do so. I can't keep up with every conflict on the site so I try to avoid banning someone without knowing the whole story. The few users that I have banned were spammers who were clearly trying to promote free ipods, etc (I also put a temp ban on 3 vendors at the beginning of the year).

Also if I ever do ban anyone, I make sure to email them (not pm) to let them know that I did and what the reason was. I try to get both sides of the story before I do anything. So if I did ban you would know it was from me because I would have told you directly.

I would say there was a thing going for the Vegas boys at that time. I got banned then too for defending myself when my engine blew. But I do know that Blonde changed it form being a three day to one day. He did listen to my side of the story and made a compromise. But I still see that one member that I was arguing with going around talking trash to everyone in just about 90% of his posts to this day. I also know that immediately after my ban that member that I was arguing with continued to harrass me thru PM's to the point where I asked the Mods to make it stop. They did......

very nice example, just to show you some mods really think "they are all that".

I don't see how Otter participated in the bashing. It's a pretty straightforward statement - he should have died when he hit a barricade going 90+. There are a couple of posts that are certainly questionable, though I don't know if Otter warned any of the users.

The statement can be taken in more then one way.

The big issue is not that he "participated" but that he was selective in enforcing a rule that was out there, thats all I was saying. Again he may have a very good reason, but in a position like that perception is everything.

And who's to say he didn't send a PM to the members? We won't know unless he posts up. Mods don't have to make their warnings publically, infact it's encouraged to PM or email them with the warning so other members don't try to harrass them in to getting banned.

People love to bash the Mods because some of the mod seem to get bored and close or delete posts and threads because they have nothing better to do even when the threads had nothing bad in them. I would like to stress though this is some NOT all of the mods

Thanks for clearing that up. But like I said previously, I was basically banned for my pm that I sent to you.

Did you send that pm (or a pm like that) to anyone else besides me?

gonzo,

Your last ban had nothing to do with the PM you sent to SPT. It was for language and circumventing the language masking in place, over and over and over in the Vegas thread.
It was discussed between the Admins and Super Mods, SPT probably doesn't remember with everything he has going on.

I banned Vegasboy and I tried to talk to the Vegas guys at the time but no one wanted to leave it alone, therefore many more got banned for not being able to follow the rules.

The AMS videos were removed.
I am one of the people that drove the street racing video ban back when it was instituted. It was posted all over the site and it is a zero tolerance policy. Long time members should know better so they are more likely to be banned for it then a first timer. I don't want to re-open the arguement because the video is open to interpretation. My two points were, sped up or not the Evos were traveling at least twice the speed of the other cars on the road. The donuts speak for themselves.

Kilterman,

It's about time you apologized. j/k
I don't even remember now what the beef was.
